Solution Architect — AWS / Cloud

Location: India (Hybrid, overlap hours with US delivery leadership)

Experience: 10+ years overall, 5+ years in solution architecture, cloud architecture, or technical leadership roles

Role Summary The India-based Solution Architect will own the technical solution design and cloud architecture for the offshore delivery organization, translating business and product requirements into scalable, secure, and implementable technical solutions.

The role will work closely with the US Architects, engineering leads, and development teams to define solution architecture, application architecture, integration patterns, AWS infrastructure, and engineering standards across functional streams.

The ideal candidate is a robust hands-on architect with deep experience in AWS cloud architecture, modern web applications, APIs, databases, integrations, security, CI/CD, and distributed systems. The role requires the ability to move from high-level solution design to detailed technical guidance and support engineering teams through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Solution & Application Architecture

- Own the technical solution architecture for assigned functional streams, translating business and product requirements into scalable and implementable technical designs.
- Define application architecture, service boundaries, API contracts, integration patterns, data flows, and technology components.
- Create architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation guidance for engineering teams.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, resilient, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead technical design reviews and ensure consistency across application, data, integration, and security architectures.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, architecture gaps, and opportunities for simplification or modernization.

AWS & Cloud Architecture

- Design and implement cloud-native solutions primarily using AWS.
- Define AWS architecture across compute, networking, storage, databases, security, monitoring, and integration layers.
- Hands-on experience with services such as ECS/EKS, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, SQS/SNS, and EventBridge.
- Define cloud infrastructure patterns covering high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, security, observability, and cost optimization.
- Establish appropriate AWS account, environment, networking, IAM, and deployment strategies in collaboration with Cloud/DevOps engineers.
- Guide teams on containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud deployment practices using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or CloudFormation.




- Review AWS architecture and infrastructure designs to ensure adherence to security and operational best practices.

Integration & Data Architecture

- Define REST/API and event-driven integration patterns across internal and external systems.
- Design secure and scalable integrations using APIs, messaging, queues, and event-driven architectures where appropriate.
- Define data storage, data access, caching, and data synchronization patterns.
- Collaborate with data and engineering teams on database architecture and performance considerations.
- Ensure integration and data designs align with the overall platform architecture and security model.

Engineering & Technical Governance

- Establish engineering standards for architecture, design patterns, API development, cloud deployments, observability, and CI/CD.
- Lead architecture and code/design reviews across engineering teams.
- Ensure implementation remains aligned with approved architecture throughout the development lifecycle.
- Provide technical direction and escalation support to Senior Engineers, Tech Leads, and engineering pods.
- Own resolution of significant technical issues and cross-stream integration challenges.
- Track architecture decisions, technical debt, and architectural risks and drive remediation through the appropriate governance process.

DevOps & Delivery Enablement

- Define and guide CI/CD and deployment architecture across development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Establish environment strategy, deployment patterns, branching/release strategies, and configuration management practices.
- Work closely with DevOps/CloudOps teams to ensure reliable and repeatable deployments.
- Define application monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability requirements.
- Support production readiness reviews and help engineering teams troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues.

AI & Modern Engineering Practices

- Evaluate and incorporate modern AI-assisted and agentic development capabilities into the engineering workflow.
- Direct and prompt AI coding agents such as Claude Code or equivalent tools for architecture spikes, technical validation, prototyping, and build-readiness assessments.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity while maintaining appropriate architecture, security, quality, and governance standards.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership





- Work closely with the US Principal Architect to ensure alignment between overall solution architecture and India execution.
- Partner with Product, Project Management, Engineering, QA, CloudOps, and Security teams to drive successful implementation.
- Mentor Solution Engineers, Tech Leads, and Senior Engineers on architecture and cloud engineering practices.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering streams and distributed teams.

Required Qualifications

- 10+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering, solution architecture, cloud architecture, or technical leadership.
- 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, cloud architecture, or senior technical leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and delivering AWS-based cloud solutions.
- Deep understanding of AWS services including compute, networking, storage, databases, IAM, monitoring, security, and integration services.
- Proven experience designing scalable, highly available, secure, and resilient cloud architectures.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, integration patterns, and database architecture.
- Experience with modern application stacks such as Python/Java/.NET, React or other modern frontend frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes/ECS, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent infrastructure automation tools.
- Proven ability to translate business and functional requirements into detailed technical and cloud architecture.
- Experience leading technical design reviews and providing architecture guidance across multiple engineering teams or pods.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across both application and cloud/infrastructure layers.
- Experience working with distributed/global engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent is required.

Good To Have

- AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or Associate certification.
- Experience with Kubernetes/EKS and containerized cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with event-driven architectures using SQS, SNS, EventBridge, or Kafka.
- Experience with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda.
- Experience with cloud security, IAM, networking, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with observability platforms and practices.
- Experience in pharma, healthcare distribution, or another regulated industry.
- Experience managing technical debt, architecture governance, and modernization initiatives across offshore-led delivery models.
- Experience working within an AI/agent-orchestrated software development model.
