As a Software Engineer / Lead, you will build highly scalable crawlers that scour the web for qualified data of users from multiple sites (such as github, stackoverflow). This role would also require working on text processing of the data. You will own the responsibilities of the product and interact with the Lead Data Scientist & Lead API developer.

Core Responsibilites

- Build & deploy scalable web crawlers to discover and index websites
- Text processing, information retrieval / extraction of data




- Lead and represent your product to stakeholders
- Bonus: Contributing to the development of Predikt's core API (optional)

Requirements:

- 3 years experience with Python (or RoR)
- Experience writing scalable web crawlers (using frameworks such as Scrapy or others)
- Experience or Project work in Text processing using python (ETL scripts, machine learning, NLP, information extraction, information retrieval, etc.)
- Internet technologies like HTTP, HTML, Javascript, Networking, etc.
- Experience with some of the common technologies and techniques for crawling, extracting and processing data, e.g. scrapy, nltk, gensim, scikit-learn, mapreduce, nosql, etc.
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Heroku
- Redis, MongoDB and PostgreSQL
