Site Engineer / Site In-Charge

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Site Engineer / Site In-Charge to oversee day-to-day site operations, JCB machinery, VDCC teams, site expenses, maintenance, repairs, and essential site materials. The person will be responsible for ensuring smooth site functioning, proper manpower and machinery utilization, expense control, and timely reporting to management.

Key Responsibilities

1. JCB / Heavy Machinery Management

Take complete responsibility for the management and operation of 3 JCB machines at the project site. Plan and monitor daily JCB deployment as per site requirements.

Coordinate transportation and movement of JCB operators.

Maintain records of daily JCB expenses, including diesel, batta and other operational expenses.

Monitor diesel consumption and ensure proper utilization of fuel.

Coordinate and monitor periodical maintenance of JCBs, including teeth replacement, welding and other preventive maintenance activities.

Coordinate JCB insurance, road tax and other statutory requirements.

Attend to breakdowns and coordinate necessary repairs with mechanics/service providers.

Maintain records of machine running hours, maintenance, repairs and expenses.

Ensure JCBs are available and operational as per project requirements.

1. VDCC Team & Machinery Management

Plan and coordinate the deployment of VDCC teams according to daily site requirements. Monitor day-to-day VDCC activities and manpower utilization.

Manage daily VDCC site expenses such as petrol, food and other operational expenses.

Maintain proper records of VDCC-related expenses.

Monitor VDCC machinery and equipment condition.

Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance of machinery.

Identify machinery breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs.

Ensure minimum downtime and proper utilization of VDCC machinery.

Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly expense statements for VDCC operations.

Site Material & Consumables Management

Maintain availability of essential site materials such as:

Gunny Bags

Drums

Other required site consumables

Monitor stock levels and raise requirements before materials run out.

Maintain proper inward, outward and consumption records.

Coordinate procurement/replenishment of materials with the concerned department.

Ensure proper storage and utilization of site materials.

Reporting & Documentation

Prepare daily reports covering machinery deployment, manpower, expenses, maintenance and repairs.

Submit weekly and monthly expense and operational reports to management.

Maintain records of

JCB diesel and batta expenses

Machinery maintenance and repair expenses

VDCC operational expenses

Operator/team transportation

Site consumables

Insurance and road tax

Machine running hours and downtime

Immediately report major breakdowns, unexpected expenses or operational issues to the Project Manager.

Required Skills

Good knowledge of site operations and construction machinery.

Ability to manage multiple JCBs and VDCC teams.

Good manpower and machinery planning skills.

Basic understanding of machinery maintenance and repairs.

Good record-keeping and expense-management skills.

Ability to coordinate with operators, mechanics, vendors and site teams.

Solid communication and problem-solving skills.

Willingness to work at the project site and handle field-level responsibilities.

Experience & Qualification

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

Experience: 2–5 years in construction, infrastructure, road works or similar project-site operations.

Experience in handling construction machinery and site teams will be preferred.

Key Objective of the Role To ensure smooth and uninterrupted site operations by effectively managing JCBs, VDCC teams, machinery, operators, daily expenses, maintenance, repairs and essential site materials while maintaining proper records and cost control.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
