Role Description The Site Engineer role at New Star Construction is a full-time, on-site position based in Puducherry.

The Site

Engineer oversees day-to-day construction activities, including supervising site work, coordinating with contractors and suppliers, and ensuring that work is executed according to drawings and specifications. This role is responsible for monitoring quality control, verifying measurements, and preparing basic site reports and documentation.

Engineer collaborates with project managers and structural engineers to address technical issues, maintain safety standards, and support timely project completion. The position requires consistent presence at the construction site to manage operations and respond to in office challenges.

Qualifications

- Ability to work effectively on site, with strong understanding of on-site construction practices and safety requirements.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Experience or knowledge in quality control processes, including inspection of materials and verification of work against drawings and standards.
- Background in structural engineering or civil engineering, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Basic proficiency in project documentation, site reporting, and use of common construction tools and software.
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve on site, and make sound decisions within defined guidelines.
- Prior experience in building or infrastructure projects in a site engineer or similar role is an advantage.
