Senior Writer – OTT, Documentary & Unscripted Storytelling

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced storyteller who understands how stories are developed,

structured and brought to screen—not just written.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of professional experience in OTT, film, television,

documentaries, unscripted entertainment, investigative journalism or premium long-form digital content.

As a Senior Writer, you will take stories from research and concept development through narrative structure, scripting and production-ready drafts, working closely with producers,

directors, researchers and editors.

You should be able to turn complex real-world material into emotionally engaging, visually driven and structurally compelling stories.

Key Responsibilities

Story Development & Writing

● Develop original story ideas, loglines, treatments, synopses and narrative structures

● Write scripts for long-form digital content.

● Build strong narrative arcs.

● Structure stories across different formats and durations.

● Adapt real events, investigative material and source material into compelling narratives.

Research & Editorial

● Conduct extensive research using archival materials and other reliable sources, while fact-checking information and identifying gaps.

● Apply strong editorial judgment to shape complex research into clear, compelling narratives.

Visual Storytelling & Production

● Write with the final visual medium in mind.

● Collaborate with directors, editors, producers and researchers to translate stories effectively from page to screen.

● Create clear, production-ready scripts for voice artists and production teams.

● Participate in story meetings,



incorporate creative feedback and handle rounds of revisions.

What We’re Looking For

● Strong understanding of story architecture, character development, narrative tension,

pacing and information control.

● Ability to turn extensive research into a focused, engaging and emotionally compelling story.

● Excellent written and spoken English, with strong attention to detail.

● Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with writers, producers,

directors, researchers and editors.

● Strong understanding of international film, television, OTT and documentary storytelling,

with a genuine interest in long-form narratives.

Experience & Qualifications

● 5 years of professional experience in screenwriting, television, OTT, film,

documentaries, docuseries, unscripted content, investigative journalism or related long-form storytelling.

● Strong portfolio demonstrating professional writing ability.

● Produced or professionally distributed work is strongly preferred.

● Experience adapting real events, investigative material or true stories is highly valued.

● Relevant education in Film, Screenwriting, Journalism, English, Communications, Mass

Communication or a related field is welcome but not mandatory.

● Candidates with exceptional qualified credits may be considered irrespective of formal academic qualifications.

● Understanding of the pre-production,



production and post-production process, with proficiency in professional screenwriting software such as Final Draft, WriterDuet, Celtx or equivalent.
