Senior Test Engineer
Bengaluru, India 3–6 years Full-time Strengthen release confidence through effective test design, exploratory testing and intelligent automation.
Role Overview
As a Senior Test Engineer, you will take ownership of quality throughout the development lifecycle. You will design and execute effective tests, contribute to automation and work with developers and stakeholders to improve release confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse requirements and identify appropriate test scenarios.
- Prepare, review and execute test cases.
- Perform functional, integration, regression and exploratory testing.
- Develop and maintain automated tests.
- Validate APIs, web applications and backend integrations.
- Record and track defects with clear supporting evidence.
- Participate in release planning, risk assessment and quality reviews.
- Mentor junior testers and promote quality-engineering practices.
- Collaborate with developers to introduce testing earlier in delivery.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of software testing or quality-engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of test-design and defect-management techniques.
- Experience in web, mobile or API testing.
- Hands-on experience with at least one automation framework.
- Working knowledge of tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
- Understanding of Agile and continuous-delivery practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Positive to Have
- Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or Appium.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git.
- Basic SQL and database-validation experience.
- Exposure to performance, accessibility or security testing.
- A relevant testing certification such as ISTQB.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent discipline.
