nJob Responsibilities

n

n
- Administer and support NetApp ONTAP storage environments across AFF, FAS and ASA platforms.
n
- Provision and manage storage resources including Aggregates, SVMs, Volumes, LUNs, CIFS shares and NFS exports.
n
- Configure and troubleshoot iSCSI connectivity, multipathing, initiator groups (igroups) and LUN mapping.
n
- Administer NAS protocols including NFS and SMB/CIFS, export policies, share permissions and client access.
n
- Configure and manage QoS policies — Adaptive and Fixed — to meet application performance requirements.
n
- Implement and manage SnapMirror for disaster recovery, replication, failover and data synchronisation between sites.
n
- Configure and manage FabricPool for automated tiering of inactive data to object storage, and monitor tiering efficiency.
n
- Configure and manage NetApp Volume Encryption (NVE), onboard and external key management, and encryption best practices to secure data at rest and in transit.
n
- Perform storage health checks, firmware and ONTAP upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
n
- Monitor storage capacity, performance, latency and utilisation using Active IQ, System Manager and CLI.
n
- Troubleshoot storage performance issues, protocol connectivity problems, replication failures and hardware faults.
n
- Work with virtualization and cloud teams on storage integration with VMware, OpenStack, Kubernetes or Hyper-V.
n
- Participate in DR drills, storage migrations and change management activities.
n
- Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs and implementation guides.
n
- Coordinate with NetApp support for critical incidents and hardware/software escalations.




n
- Mentor L1 engineers and coordinate with OEM support teams.
n

n

nRequired Skills

n

n
- Strong hands-on experience with NetApp ONTAP CLI and System Manager across AFF, FAS and ASA platforms.
n
- Provisioning and management of Aggregates, SVMs, FlexVol volumes, LUNs and qtrees.
n
- SAN administration: iSCSI (FC preferred), multipathing, ALUA, igroups and LUN mapping.
n
- NAS administration: NFS and SMB/CIFS, export policies, share permissions and client access troubleshooting.
n
- Data protection using SnapMirror, Snapshot, FlexClone and SVM Disaster Recovery.
n
- QoS policy design and tuning (Adaptive and Fixed).
n
- Storage efficiency — deduplication, compression and compaction — and FabricPool tiering to object storage.
n
- NetApp Volume Encryption (NVE) with onboard and external key management.
n
- Storage monitoring and reporting via Active IQ, System Manager and CLI.
n
- Capacity planning, performance tuning, latency analysis and root cause analysis.
n
- Networking fundamentals for storage: VLANs, LACP, MTU, DNS, NTP and routing.
n
- Working knowledge of Linux administration; automation exposure with PowerShell, Bash, Python or Ansible is an advantage.
n

nQualifications

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or a related field.
n
- 5–8+ years of relevant experience in enterprise storage administration.
n
- NetApp certification (NCDA / NCIE) preferred.
