Senior SQA Tester

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior SQA Tester to lead quality assurance efforts across our web and AI-powered applications. The ideal candidate has strong experience testing modern web applications, including AI-driven features and workflows, and is comfortable building and maintaining automated test suites.

You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams to design comprehensive testing strategies, identify potential issues early, and ensure our products are reliable, secure, scalable, and user-friendly.

The ideal candidate is hands-on with Playwright or Selenium, has strong TypeScript and JavaScript experience, and understands how to test both traditional web application functionality and AI-powered features.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for web and AI-powered applications
- Design and execute manual and automated tests across frontend UI, backend APIs, databases, and integrated workflows
- Build, maintain, and improve automated testing frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools
- Write and maintain test automation using TypeScript and/or JavaScript
- Test AI-powered features and applications, including AI-driven workflows, outputs, integrations, and edge cases
- Develop testing approaches for AI functionality where traditional deterministic testing may not be sufficient, including validation of expected behavior, consistency, accuracy, and failure scenarios
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, end-to-end, and exploratory testing
- Test RESTful APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or Insomnia
- Identify, reproduce, document, and track bugs with clear steps, expected results, actual results, and supporting evidence
- Lead end-to-end testing cycles for new releases, major product updates, and new AI-powered features
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to understand requirements and ensure adequate test coverage




- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and help maintain reliable automated test execution
- Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure consistent application behavior
- Contribute to performance, accessibility, usability, and security testing
- Review existing QA processes and recommend improvements to increase test coverage, reliability, and efficiency
- Mentor junior QA team members and promote QA best practices across the development team

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance/testing
- Demonstrated experience testing web applications, preferably including complex SaaS or enterprise applications
- Hands-on experience testing AI-powered applications or AI-driven features
- Strong experience with Playwright or Selenium for browser/UI automation
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or JavaScript, particularly for test automation
- Experience designing, writing, executing, and maintaining automated test cases
- Strong understanding of test automation frameworks, Page Object Model, test data management, and maintainable automation practices
- Experience with RESTful API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or Insomnia
- Experience with Git and version control workflows
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and browser behavior
- Experience identifying, troubleshooting, and clearly documenting software defects
- Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills




- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience testing applications built with PHP/Laravel
- Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
- Experience with AI/LLM-powered applications, including testing AI-generated responses, prompts, workflows, integrations, or agentic behavior
- Experience with AI testing/evaluation frameworks or techniques
- Experience with Cypress in addition to Playwright or Selenium
- Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or k6
- Experience with security testing tools such as OWASP ZAP or Burp Suite
- Familiarity with accessibility testing and WCAG standards
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
- ISTQB or other recognized QA/testing certification
- Experience mentoring or leading QA engineers/testers

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate hands-on experience testing AI-powered applications, rather than candidates whose experience is limited to traditional web application QA.

You should be comfortable asking questions such as:

- How do we reliably test an AI-powered feature when outputs may vary?
- How do we validate AI behavior against expected requirements?
- How do we test edge cases, unexpected inputs, and failure scenarios?
- How can automated browser testing be integrated into our development workflow?
- How can we improve test coverage while keeping our automation suite reliable and maintainable?
