Who We Are

Dutient Labs is building Dutro, a multi-tenant data privacy and compliance platform. We're a small, founder-led team with a live product, real customers, and a stack that's growing fast. This is an early hire on the engineering team, and the work is hands-on from day one.

The Role

We're hiring a Senior Engineer to work across backend services and cloud infrastructure. You won't be handed perfectly scoped tickets. You'll be expected to read context, ask the right questions, and ship.

Frontend/UI is out of scope.

What You'll Work On

Backend services built on

- Node.js with TypeScript (strict mode, ESM)
- Fastify for the HTTP layer, with schema validation via JSON Schema / Zod
- Postgres via Prisma ORM, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization
- MongoDB for document-oriented workloads
- Redis for caching, session management, and pub/sub

Infrastructure and deployment:
- Kubernetes on OCI (OKE), including pod specs, resource limits, liveness/readiness probes, and namespacing
- FluxCD for GitOps-based deployments, including Kustomize overlays and HelmRelease management
- HashiCorp Vault for secrets injection, agile credentials, and policy management
- OCI Object Storage, VCN configuration, and bastion-gated SSH access
- Containerisation with Docker, multi-stage builds, and image optimisation

Identity and access:
- Keycloak for enterprise SSO, including realm configuration, client setup, and token introspection
- OIDC and SAML 2.0 flows end-to-end
- RBAC design across multi-tenant workspaces




- Audit logging pipelines that are complete and tamper-evident

Observability and reliability:
- Structured logging (JSON), log aggregation, and alerting
- Basic distributed tracing and correlation ID propagation
- Writing runbooks and knowing when to escalate

What We're Looking For

- 2 to 4 years of backend engineering experience with at least one production system you owned, not just contributed to
- Solid with TypeScript and Node.js, including async patterns, error handling, and writing code someone else can read six months later
- Comfortable with Postgres at depth: indexes, query plans, migrations that don't take down prod, and multi-tenant row-level isolation
- Worked with Kubernetes in a real environment, not just tutorials. You know what a CrashLoopBackOff means and how to fix it
- Understands how SSO works at a protocol level, not just "we use OAuth"
- Experience with any GitOps tooling (FluxCD, ArgoCD) is a robust plus
- Has worked in a startup or a small team where you had to figure things out without a platform team holding your hand
- Can write a PR description that explains the why, not just the what
