n Job Summary

n

n We are looking for an experienced Senior R&D; Executive with strong hands-on experience in Cosmetics / Color Cosmetics / Beauty & Personal Care product development.

n The candidate will be responsible for new product development, formulation development and optimization, raw material evaluation, laboratory trials, stability studies, scale-up, troubleshooting, and commercialization of cosmetic products.

n The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation processes, product testing, and manufacturing scale-up, along with the ability to coordinate with Production, QC, QA, Packaging, Purchase, and Marketing teams.

n Key Responsibilities

n 1. New Product Development (NPD)

n • Develop new cosmetic and color cosmetic formulations according to product requirements.

n • Handle product development from concept → laboratory trial → pilot batch → scale-up → commercial production.

n • Develop and improve products based on market trends, consumer requirements, and business needs.

n • Conduct product benchmarking against competitor and market products.

n • Support new product launches and commercialization.

n 2. Formulation Development & Optimization

n • Develop, modify, and optimize formulations to achieve required quality, texture, appearance, performance, stability, and cost.

n • Select suitable raw materials, pigments, colors, actives, emulsifiers, preservatives, thickeners, oils, waxes, and other functional ingredients.

n • Conduct multiple laboratory trials and evaluate formulation performance.

n • Troubleshoot formulation-related issues and implement corrective actions.

n • Work on cost optimization and alternate raw material development without compromising product quality.

n 3. Cosmetic Product Development

n Hands-on experience in one or more of the following categories will be preferred:

n • Color Cosmetics

n • Foundations / BB Creams / Concealers

n • Lipsticks / Lip Balms / Lip Products

n • Kajal / Eyeliner / Mascara

n • Creams & Lotions

n • Serums & Gels

n • Face Care Products

n • Hair Care Products





n • Personal Care Products

n 4. Stability & Product Testing

n • Plan and conduct stability studies for newly developed and existing products.

n • Monitor parameters such as appearance, color, odor, pH, viscosity, texture, and physical stability, as applicable.

n • Conduct compatibility studies with packaging materials.

n • Evaluate product performance during development and stability testing.

n • Maintain stability samples and testing records.

n 5. Scale-Up & Production Support

n • Coordinate and execute pilot and scale-up batches.

n • Transfer laboratory formulations to production while maintaining product consistency.

n • Work closely with Production during trial and commercial batches.

n • Troubleshoot formulation and process-related issues during manufacturing.

n • Investigate batch failures, deviations, and product inconsistencies.

n • Provide technical solutions for improving manufacturing processes.

n 6. Raw Material Development

n • Evaluate and approve new raw materials for R&D; trials.

n • Conduct trials for alternative / substitute raw materials.

n • Study raw material compatibility and functionality.

n • Coordinate with Purchase and QC for raw material evaluation and technical requirements.

n • Maintain technical information and specifications for R&D; raw materials.

n 7. Documentation & Compliance

n Prepare and maintain:

n • Master Formulation Sheets

n • Trial Reports

n • Product Specifications

n • Raw Material Specifications

n • Stability Reports

n • Product Development Reports

n • Scale-Up Reports

n • Batch Trial Records

n • R&D; Sample Records

n • Technical Documentation

n Ensure all R&D; activities are properly documented according to company procedures and applicable quality requirements.

n 8. Cross-Functional Coordination

n • Coordinate with Production, QC, QA, Packaging, Purchase, and Marketing teams.

n • Provide technical inputs for product development and commercialization.





n • Work with Production and QA/QC teams to resolve manufacturing and quality issues.

n • Coordinate packaging compatibility and product filling trials.

n • Support technical discussions with raw material and packaging suppliers.

n 9. Team & Project Coordination

n • Plan and prioritize multiple R&D; projects according to business requirements.

n • Guide junior R&D; team members during formulation trials and testing.

n • Monitor project timelines and ensure timely completion of development activities.

n • Maintain proper records of ongoing and completed R&D; projects.

n Experience Required

n • 4–7 years of relevant experience in Cosmetics / Color Cosmetics / Beauty & Personal Care R&D.;

n • Strong hands-on experience in formulation development and product development.

n • Experience in taking products from laboratory trials to commercial production.

n • Candidates with direct Color Cosmetics R&D; experience will be preferred.

n • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment is required.

n Educational Qualification

n • M.Sc. / B.Sc. in Chemistry

n • M.Pharm / B.Pharm

n • Cosmetic Science or other relevant technical qualification.
