We are looking for a qualified and dedicated Senior Resident – Oncology ICU / Critical Care to join our critical care team.

The ideal candidate should have 1–2 years of ICU experience, preferably in an Oncology ICU, Cancer Hospital, or tertiary-care ICU, with a postgraduate qualification in Anaesthesia, Critical Care, or Emergency Medicine.

The doctor will be responsible for the assessment and management of critically ill oncology patients, including patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, shock, post-operative complications, neutropenic complications, and other acute medical emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess, stabilize, and manage critically ill oncology and cancer patients in the ICU.
- Provide comprehensive critical care to patients with medical, surgical, and treatment-related complications.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, hemodynamic status, respiratory status, and response to treatment.
- Manage patients requiring invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
- Participate in the management of:
- Sepsis and septic shock
- Acute respiratory failure
- Neutropenic sepsis
- Hemodynamic instability
- Multiorgan dysfunction
- Electrolyte and metabolic abnormalities
- Post-operative complications
- Chemotherapy-related complications
- Acute oncological emergencies
- Perform or assist with ICU procedures as per competency, including:
- Endotracheal intubation
- Central venous catheterization
- Arterial line placement
- Airway management
- Emergency resuscitation
- Respond to Code Blue and other medical emergencies.
- Participate in CPR/ACLS and stabilization of deteriorating patients.
- Review and interpret ABG, laboratory investigations, ECG, radiology, and other diagnostic reports.




- Conduct regular ICU rounds and discuss patient management with Consultant Intensivists and relevant oncology specialists.
- Coordinate with Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Laboratory, and other departments.
- Monitor patients receiving chemotherapy and other cancer-directed treatments for acute complications, in coordination with the treating oncology team.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and ICU records.
- Provide appropriate clinical handover during shift changes.
- Communicate professionally with patients' relatives regarding clinical updates under consultant guidance.
- Follow ICU protocols, infection-control practices, antimicrobial stewardship policies, and patient-safety standards.
- Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, audits, academic activities, and quality-improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications Candidates with any of the following relevant qualifications may apply, subject to institutional eligibility and credentialing requirements:
- MD Anaesthesia
- DNB Anaesthesia
- IDCCM
- DrNB Critical Care
- MEM
- Diploma in Emergency Medicine

Candidates with a combination of Anaesthesia + Critical Care qualifications will be preferred.

Experience

- 1–2 years of ICU / Critical Care experience preferred.
- Oncology ICU / Cancer Hospital ICU experience is preferred.
- Experience managing critically ill oncology patients will be an advantage.
- Candidates should have hands-on experience in emergency stabilization and ICU patient management.

Pay: ₹130,000.00 - ₹135,000.00 per month
