GJC is a rapidly growing consulting firm that exclusively supports Japanese corporations in establishing, operating, and expanding their businesses in India. We are looking for an experienced Corporate & Labour Laws Counsel with strong expertise in Indian labour laws, corporate advisory, and regulatory compliance to work closely with Japanese corporate clients and provide strategic legal guidance in a cross-border business setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to Japanese corporate clients on Indian labour laws, corporate compliance, and employment-related matters.
- Provide legal guidance on labour law compliance, employment regulations, statutory obligations, and corporate governance.
- Lead client discussions and present legal advice in a clear, practical, and business-oriented manner.
- Support foreign leadership in understanding and navigating Indian legal and compliance frameworks.
- Draft, review, and advise on employment contracts, HR policies, compliance documentation, and legal opinions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, corporate laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients on cross-border legal and compliance matters.
- Build long-term relationships with international clients through professional communication and cultural sensitivity.
Desired Candidate Profile
- LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university.
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in Corporate Law with robust specialization in Indian Labour Laws.
- Experience advising corporate clients on labour law compliance and employment regulations.
- Excellent legal drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with international clients.
- Exposure to multinational or Japanese corporate clients will be an added advantage.
- Candidates seeking a long-term career opportunity in a client-facing consulting role are preferred.
