About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Field Manager to lead the planning, physical execution, and day-to-day implementation of a Rewilding project in Chandrapur/ northern Tadoba area. The Senior Field Manager will oversee field operations, local forest department coordination, plantation or invasive removal work, community survey data collection, vendor management, and on-ground team coordination in the Tadoba landscape.

Key Responsibilities

- On-Site Leadership: Direct day-to-day operations, community liasoning, and technical inputs at the project sites.

- Planning & Scheduling: Develop baseline schedules, resource plans, and work timelines to deliver the project on budget and schedule.

- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage contractors, local agencies, forest department staff, and field labor.

- Team Supervision: Directly lead, mentor, and monitor the 2 Field Associates assigned to the sites.

- Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure all field equipment installations (camera traps, acoustic meters, sampling techniques), and safety protocols meet project specifications.

- Progress Documentation & Reporting: Deliver and document regular progress updates, and site risk evaluations to the internal team.

Requirements





Key Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Wildlife Studies, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Forestry, Horticulture, Botany, Zoology

- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in wildlife conservation, restoration, plantation work, vegetation surveys, or community engagement projects.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project scheduling tools (MS Office, basic GIS softwares, KOBO or similar), team management, field execution.

- Willingness to learn: An enthusiasm to readily pick up new tools and skills while on the job and use these to execute project requirements and deliverables.

- Location Constraint: Must be based in or willing to relocate immediately to Chandrapur/ northern side of Tadoba, with a solid preference for candidates comfortable managing outdoor site operations under extreme field conditions.

- Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience, range - 4 to 6 lakh pa

- Work Hours: Standard site operating hours; requires flexibility during intensive execution phases.
