We are India’s most loved brand in our segment. Our journey began from a 10X10 feet store, driven by the realization that there were very few options available to fulfill the fashion requirements of plus-size beauties. Often, they were greeted with the disheartening statement:

“INKA SIZE TOH YAHA NAHI MILEGA”

Starting from an Instagram page with an initial investment of INR 50,000, we have faced numerous challenges to enhance our skills and build a happy customer base. Today, we are a rapidly growing team of 70+ people, supported by a dedicated production team. We have a trusted customer base of 2.5 lakh women and a strong presence on all major social media platforms, with 500k followers on Instagram and 60K on Facebook.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a creative, experienced, and detail-oriented Senior Fashion Designer with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to lead the development of new collections and products for The Plus Size Store by Meera Creations.

The role will involve end-to-end design development, from trend and market research to concept creation, sketching, fabric selection, sampling, fittings, and finalizing products for production.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Indian ethnic wear, garment construction, fabrics, silhouettes, and plus-size fashion, along with the ability to translate creative ideas into commercially viable products.

Key Responsibilities

- Trend & Market Research: Research fashion trends, silhouettes, fabrics, colors, prints, techniques, and competitor offerings to identify relevant opportunities for the brand.
- Collection Development: Conceptualize and develop new collections, capsules, and product ranges in line with the brand's aesthetic and customer requirements.
- Design Development: Independently develop new styles, silhouettes, design variations, and product concepts from initial idea to final product.
- Sketching & Illustration: Create hand sketches, fashion illustrations, technical references, and detailed design representations.
- Mood Boards & Concept Development: Develop mood boards, color stories, inspiration boards, and overall creative direction for collections.
- Fabric & Material Selection: Research and select appropriate fabrics, trims, embellishments, prints, techniques,



and other materials based on design and commercial requirements.
- Sampling & Development: Lead and coordinate the sampling process from the initial sample through revisions and final approvals.
- Fit & Corrections: Conduct fittings, evaluate garment fit and construction, identify issues, and provide clear corrections to sampling and production teams.
- Plus-Size Fit Development: Develop designs with a robust understanding of plus-size proportions, comfort, movement, construction, and flattering silhouettes.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain measurement charts, design specifications, product details, fabric requirements, and other relevant documentation.
- Costing & Commercial Viability: Work with relevant teams to ensure designs are commercially viable and aligned with target pricing and production requirements.
- Design Library & Documentation: Maintain organized records of designs, samples, fabrics, references, approvals, and collection development.
- Creative Direction: Establish and maintain a consistent design language across collections while bringing fresh and commercially relevant ideas to the brand.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate closely with the CEO/Design Head, sampling teams, production teams, merchandising, sourcing teams, and external vendors.
- Product Finalization: Take ownership of design decisions and ensure approved products are developed accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Collection Planning: Contribute to seasonal and annual collection planning based on customer insights, sales performance, market trends, and brand direction.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Fashion Designer, Senior Fashion Designer, or similar role.
- Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of Indian ethnic wear, fabrics, silhouettes, garment construction, and finishing.
- Strong hand-sketching and fashion illustration skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or similar design software.
- Strong understanding of garment fit and construction, particularly plus-size fit, is highly preferred.
- Ability to independently develop a design from concept to final product.
- Strong understanding of fabrics, sourcing,



sampling, and production processes.
- Strong creative thinking combined with commercial and customer-oriented design sensibility.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve design and fit issues.
- Strong communication, coordination, and team-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple designs and collections simultaneously while meeting timelines.
- Proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced fashion environment.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and work independently while collaborating with the wider team.

Role Growth The Senior Fashion Designer will work closely with the CEO/Design Head and will progressively take greater ownership of the brand's design direction, collection development, product categories, and individual design projects based on performance and capability. The role offers an opportunity to play a key part in shaping the design language and future product portfolio of The Plus Size Store by Meera Creations.
