About PharmSight
PharmSight is a rapidly growing strategic consulting firm dedicated to advancing bio-pharmaceutical innovation. We deliver bespoke solutions that address critical business challenges across the pharmaceutical value chain. As we expand our product portfolio, digital presence, and marketing reach, we are looking for a highly capable Senior Design Specialist (UI/UX, Web & Brand) to shape how PharmSight is experienced across product interfaces, the web, and professional marketing channels.
This is a hands-on role for a designer who can combine user experience design, visual storytelling, and brand execution. The successful candidate will help build intuitive interfaces while also supporting the company’s evolving website, sales/marketing collateral, social-media assets, and other brand touchpoints.
Why join PharmSight?
- Build the design foundation of a high-growth pharma data analytics company.
- Influence product, brand, website, content, and customer-facing experiences rather than being limited to a narrow design function.
- Collaborate directly with leadership and have visible impact on the company’s growth trajectory.
- Be part of a flexible, entrepreneurial work environment with significant ownership and autonomy.
- Grow rapidly in a flat organization with meaningful learning and career progression opportunities.
Role Overview
We're looking for a senior designer to own design at PharmSight. You will own and elevate the design experience across PharmSight’s digital and marketing ecosystem. You will work closely with leadership, senior management, and sales teams to translate ideas into clear, credible, visually compelling, and easy-to-use experiences. You'll also set the brand and visual standards for all our marketing, and you'll grow a small team: a Junior Designer you'll mentor, and a Presentation Specialist.
The role requires comfort with ambiguity, strong independent judgment, and the ability to establish design systems and processes in a fast-growing startup workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Product and UX design
- Enhance end-to-end UX and UI design for PharmSight’s website and analytics products, design web applications/platforms, and data visualization experiences from user flows and wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes
- Partner with functional/product managers and subject-matter experts to define user personas, use cases, pain points, task flows, and experience requirements.
- Work closely with front-end developers to ensure designs are technically feasible, accurately implemented, responsive, and consistent across devices.
- Prepare detailed handoffs including design specifications, interaction notes, component states, responsive behavior, assets, and acceptance criteria.
- Review implemented interfaces and provide quality assurance feedback against approved designs.
Website and digital presence
- Lead the UX and visual design of PharmSight’s corporate website and future digital properties to build information architecture, page layouts, responsive design and interactions for desktop, tablet,
and mobile.
- Improve website navigation, page hierarchy, content presentation, calls to action, conversion paths, and overall usability.
- Collaborate with content and marketing teams to make technical and analytical content visually engaging, readable, and conversion oriented.
- Support landing-page creation for campaigns, product launches, industry events, webinars, lead-generation initiatives, and thought-leadership programs.
- Work with development and marketing teams to improve consistency between brand, website, product, and campaign experiences.
Brand, content, and marketing design
- Help evolve and operationalize PharmSight’s visual identity across digital, print, and professional/social-media channels.
- Lead the evolution of the PharmSight brand identity: visual language, color, typography, iconography and imagery.
- Create brand guidelines and a template library (Figma and Canva) so the team can produce on-brand social posts, infographics, brochures, whitepapers and email assets quickly.
- Create polished marketing assets using supplied content, including LinkedIn posts, carousels, infographics, digital advertisements, email creatives, banners, brochures, one-pagers, capability decks, case studies, white papers, and event collateral.
- Ensure all visual outputs meet a high standard of clarity, credibility, professional quality, and brand consistency appropriate for enterprise pharmaceutical and healthcare audiences.
Design systems and operating standards
- Establish and maintain a scalable design system for PharmSight, including typography, color, grids, icons, UI components, chart styles, data-visualization conventions, templates, and brand guidelines.
- Define standards for responsive design, accessibility, interaction design, visual hierarchy, and interface consistency.
- Develop a consistent visual language across product interfaces, the website, presentations, collateral, and social media.
- Stay current on design tools, UX practices, AI-enabled design workflows, enterprise SaaS design patterns, and data-visualization best practices.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor and train the Junior Designer through structured feedback, skill-building plans and regular design critiques.
- Allocate and prioritize design requests across the team and bring in the Presentation Specialist for social and marketing production when needed.
- Be the go-to person for design quality across everything PharmSight publishes.
Requirements
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Computer Science, or a related field.
Equivalent professional experience with a strong portfolio will also be considered.
- 7–10 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, product design, digital design, visual design, or a related role.
- Strong portfolio showing end-to-end product-design work, including problem framing, user flows, wireframes, UI design, prototypes, and final implemented interfaces.
- Experience designing responsive websites and digital marketing assets for professional or enterprise audiences.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, libraries, prototyping, design systems, and developer handoff.
- Strong working knowledge of Canva and PowerPoint, with the ability to create professional, high-quality presentation and campaign materials.
- Proficiency with relevant visual-design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent tools.
- Solid understanding of information architecture, interaction design, usability principles, accessibility, responsive design, and user-centered design methods.
- Experience collaborating directly with front-end developers and familiarity with HTML, CSS, and modern web-development constraints. Ability to code is not mandatory, but design fluency in technical implementation is expected.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions clearly to non-design stakeholders, senior leadership, developers, and clients.
- Strong attention to detail, visual craft, prioritization, and ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, consulting, data analytics, business intelligence, financial analytics, or other regulated/complex B2B sectors.
- Experience designing business-intelligence dashboards or working with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, or similar analytics products.
- Understanding of SEO-aware web design, landing-page optimization, conversion design, and digital campaign design.
- Experience with motion design, short-form video, animation, or tools such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar platforms.
- Uses AI design tools to speed up exploration and production
- Familiarity with design accessibility standards, including WCAG principles.
- Experience working in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment.
Portfolio requirement Applicants should submit a portfolio containing relevant portfolio of work suitable to the above and must include examples of websites, brand, infographic, or social-media design work.
