Required Qualifications

- Minimum 7 years of hands-on professional Database Administration experience.
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server administration experience.
- Strong PostgreSQL and MySQL experience.
- Experience supporting both cloud-managed and self-hosted databases.
- Hands-on experience with AWS database technologies, particularly Amazon RDS.
- Experience administering databases in Microsoft Azure.
- Strong understanding of SQL, database architecture, query execution plans, indexing, query optimization, statistics, locking and blocking, deadlocks, transactions, backup and recovery, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, database security, and capacity planning.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize slow-performing SQL queries.
- Experience working directly with software developers to resolve application and database performance issues.
- Experience with Liquibase or similar database schema migration and version-management technology.
- Experience with database monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog.
- Working knowledge of cloud database security and networking.
- Strong troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills.




- Experience creating technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.
- Should be ready to work in US shifts (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM U.S. Central Time, Monday through Friday).

Primary Objectives of the Role The key objectives for this consulting engagement are to:
- Maintain and stabilize database environments.
- Provide solid production DBA and troubleshooting support.
- Improve database performance and work collaboratively with developers on query optimization.
- Strengthen database backup, recovery, HA, and DR processes.
- Improve database monitoring and observability using technologies such as Datadog.
- Modernize database schema deployment through Liquibase and CI/CD automation.
- Document database architecture, operational processes, and support procedures.
- Create repeatable DBA runbooks and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Transfer DBA knowledge and operational responsibilities to HALO's internal technology team.
- Reduce long-term dependency on external DBA resources through documentation, automation, standardization, and knowledge transfer.
