This is not a cloud billing or AWS cost-dashboard role. We need someone who can analyze on-prem/private data-center infrastructure, high-volume database workloads, hardware utilization, licensing, database cluster economics, networking, licensing, power/cooling, hardware refresh, utilization, support contracts, power/cooling assumptions, and 3–5 year TCO.

Role Summary

We need a senior infrastructure cost and capacity expert to evaluate an on-prem/private data-center environment running high-volume database workloads, including SingleStore or similar distributed database platforms.

The goal is to identify where infrastructure cost can be reduced or better planned without hurting performance, uptime, or future scale.

Required Hours: 9:00 PM – 1:00 AM IST overlap

Engagement: Contract

Responsibilities

- Build current-state cost and capacity baseline for private data-center infrastructure.
- Analyze compute, memory, storage, IOPS, network throughput, ingestion volume, retention, replication, and database cluster sizing.
- Review SingleStore or similar high-volume database workloads for cost/performance efficiency.
- Identify over-provisioning, underutilization, capacity bottlenecks, and avoidable infrastructure spend.
- Build 3-year and 5-year TCO models covering hardware, licensing, support, facilities, power/cooling, staffing assumptions, and refresh cycles.
- Recommend practical changes across compute, storage, network, database topology, retention, backup, and procurement.
- Review vendor contracts, licensing, support renewals, and hardware purchase options.
- Produce an executive-ready savings roadmap with effort, risk, dependencies,



and expected impact.

Must-Have Experience

- 8+ years in infrastructure architecture, data-center operations, platform engineering, technical cost optimization, or infrastructure consulting.
- Experience with FinOps tools e.g. Finout, Flexera, etc. strong plus
- Strong private data-center / on-prem infrastructure experience.
- Experience sizing or optimizing high-volume database platforms.
- Strong understanding of servers, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, monitoring, capacity planning, and hardware lifecycle.
- Ability to evaluate cost across CapEx, OpEx, licensing, support, facilities, power/cooling, and hardware refresh.
- Available for 9:00 PM – 1:00 AM IST overlap.

Strong Plus

- SingleStore experience.
- Experience with distributed SQL, OLTP/OLAP, analytical databases, or real-time data platforms.
- Experience with ClickHouse, CockroachDB, TiDB, PostgreSQL at scale, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar systems.
- Experience with cloud repatriation or cloud-vs-private infrastructure cost modeling.
- Linux, Kubernetes, NVMe storage, object storage, streaming ingestion, or observability experience.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
