We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Lead CAE Engineer to lead the company's Computer-

Aided Engineering (CAE) and engineering analysis function.

The Lead CAE Engineer will be responsible for planning, managing, reviewing and delivering the complete simulation and analysis activities for the company's products—including UAVs, UGVs, USVs, UUVs, robotic systems,

payloads, launchers, accessories and associated mechanical systems.

The role will oversee FEA, CFD, Dynamics and Structural Engineering activities and ensure that engineering analysis is effectively integrated into product development from concept development through detailed design, prototype development, testing, validation and production readiness.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth with team leadership, engineering judgement, crossfunctional collaboration and the ability to establish robust CAE methodologies, standards and processes

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1

CAE Function Leadership: Lead and manage the overall CAE team covering FEA, structural analysis, CFD, thermal analysis, dynamics and vibration, fatigue/durability, aero-structural and other engineering simulation activities and physical validation. Plan priorities, allocate resources and ensure timely delivery across multiple projects.

2

Analysis Strategy &

- Planning: Develop and drive the analysis strategy from concept to production. Define required analyses, modelling approach, simulation fidelity, boundary conditions, load cases, material models, mesh strategy, validation requirements, physical validation and design iterations.

3

FEA &

- Structural Analysis: Oversee static and nonlinear structural analysis, stress/strain, deformation, buckling,

contact and joints, composite analysis, failure criteria, fatigue, thermal-structural analysis and structural optimization. Review critical models, assumptions,

physical validation, results and recommendations.

4

CFD &

- Thermal Analysis: Lead CFD activities including external aerodynamics, internal flow, pressure distribution,

flow separation, propulsion-related flow, cooling and thermal-flow analysis, electronics cooling, conjugate heat transfer and aero-thermal studies. Ensure CFD results are translated into actionable design improvements

5

Dynamics &

- Vibration: Oversee modal, harmonic, random vibration, shock, transient dynamics, resonance,

vibration isolation, rotor/propeller-induced vibration and structural dynamics analyses. Support design teams in identifying and eliminating vibration-related risks.

6

Design Support &

- Verification: Work with Mechanical Design, Aerodynamics, Propulsion and other engineering teams during concept reviews, PDR, CDR, design release, prototype and engineering change reviews. Identify design weaknesses early and drive simulation-based design improvements.

7

CAE Processes, Standards &

- Documentation: Establish and maintain modelling guidelines, meshing standards,

material databases, load case libraries, solver guidelines, validation procedures, analysis report templates, model verification procedures and lessons-learned databases. Ensure complete traceability of analysis assumptions,

results and design decisions.

8

Team Leadership &

- Development: Lead and mentor FEA, CFD, Dynamics and Structural Engineering teams.

Manage manpower, work allocation, technical reviews, performance, training,

hiring and skill development. Build a technically strong and independent CAE function.

9

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with Mechanical Design, Industrial Design, Manufacturing

Engineering, Manufacturing Readiness/NPI, Testing, Reliability, Quality, Production, Aerodynamics, Propulsion,

Electronics and Systems teams to convert CAE outputs into practical product improvements.

SKILLS REQUIRED

1

Strong understanding of CAE methodologies covering FEA, CFD, structural analysis, dynamics, vibration and thermal analysis.

2

Strong knowledge of structural mechanics, finite element methods, composite structures, fatigue, buckling, joints and failure modes.

3

Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, CFD methodology, turbulence modelling, meshing, convergence and interpretation of CFD results.

4

Strong understanding of vibration, modal analysis, structural dynamics, shock, harmonic response, random vibration and resonance.

5

Experience with CAE tools such as Dassault SNE/ FMK, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS Mechanical, MSC,

MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools.

6 Ability to translate CAE results into practical mechanical, structural, aerodynamic and thermal design changes.

7 Good technical documentation, report writing, presentation and cross-functional communication skills.

8

Robust technical leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary FEA, CFD,

Dynamics and Structural teams.

9

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment. Willingness to learn from and contribute to the knowledge of others

10

Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and prioritize tasks accordingly. Comfortable working in a dynamic and agile environment
