1. Job Summary

The Senior Business Development Executive will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key industrial customers, generating profitable sales, and driving revenue growth in the Heavy Fabrication and Engineering Manufacturing sector. The role requires strong experience in B2B industrial sales, OEM customer handling, RFQ management, techno-commercial discussions, quotation coordination, contract negotiation, and project-based business development.

The candidate will be responsible for developing long-term customer relationships and converting market opportunities into profitable business while coordinating closely with Design, Costing, Production, PPC, Quality, Purchase, and Project teams.

1. Key Roles & Responsibilities

A. Business Development & Sales Growth
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in Heavy Fabrication, Trailer Manufacturing, Structural Steel, Automotive Components, and Engineering Projects.
- Identify potential OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 customers, industrial customers, and project companies.
- Generate new enquiries through market research, customer visits, networking, referrals, exhibitions, and other business development channels.
- Develop sales pipelines and convert qualified leads into profitable orders.
- Achieve assigned annual sales, revenue, margin, and customer acquisition targets.
- Develop strategies for increasing business with existing customers.

B. Customer & Key Account Management
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key industrial customers and OEMs.
- Act as the primary business contact for assigned customers.
- Understand customer requirements, upcoming projects, capacity requirements, and future business opportunities.
- Conduct regular customer visits and business reviews.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address commercial and coordination issues.
- Identify opportunities for repeat business, new product development, and account expansion.

C. RFQ & Techno-Commercial Management
- Handle complete RFQ processes from enquiry receipt through quotation submission and order conversion.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, BOMs, scope of supply, and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with Design, Costing, Production, PPC, Purchase, and Quality teams to develop technically feasible and commercially competitive quotations.
- Coordinate costing inputs for material, fabrication, welding, machining, painting, assembly, tooling, logistics, and overheads.
- Prepare and submit accurate techno-commercial quotations within defined timelines.
- Participate in commercial negotiations, price discussions, payment terms, delivery commitments, and contract negotiations.
- Follow up on quotations and maintain systematic records of enquiry status and conversion.

D. Market Development & Competitor Analysis




- Conduct market research to identify new industries, customers, products, projects, and market segments.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, capabilities, and market positioning.
- Identify emerging opportunities in heavy engineering, infrastructure, transportation, automotive, construction equipment, and industrial manufacturing.
- Develop market-entry strategies for new products, customers, and geographical markets.

E. Project & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Design, Production, PPC, Quality, Purchase, Costing, and Projects teams for successful execution of customer orders.
- Ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated internally.
- Support resolution of technical, commercial, quality, and delivery-related issues.
- Monitor project progress, production status, delivery schedules, and customer commitments.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Support project kick-off meetings and periodic customer reviews.

F. Customer Meetings, Audits & Plant Visits
- Lead customer meetings, technical discussions, commercial negotiations, and business presentations.
- Coordinate and support customer plant visits, audits, technical evaluations, and capability assessments.
- Present company capabilities, manufacturing facilities, quality systems, and technical strengths to prospective customers.
- Develop professional business proposals and presentations.

G. Sales Planning, Forecasting & MIS
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plans.
- Maintain sales pipeline, enquiry tracker, quotation status, order booking, and customer-wise business forecasts.
- Prepare regular MIS, sales reports, pipeline reviews, and management dashboards.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and identify gaps and corrective actions.
- Provide management with market intelligence and business development updates.

H. Export & Strategic Business Development
- Explore opportunities in international markets and export business, wherever applicable.
- Identify potential international customers, distributors, agents, and strategic partners.
- Support international customer communication, RFQs, quotations, and commercial discussions.
- Develop strategic partnerships to expand the company's market presence.

I. Exhibitions & Industry Networking
- Represent the company at industrial exhibitions, trade fairs, conferences, seminars, and networking events.
- Develop new business contacts and generate qualified leads through industry events.
- Maintain professional relationships with industry associations, consultants, OEMs, and project companies.

1. Required Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering – Mandatory
- MBA in Marketing / Sales – Preferred




- Additional qualifications in Business Development, Sales, Commercial Management, or Project Management will be an advantage.

1. Experience Required

- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Business Development, Industrial Sales, Key Account Management, or Project Sales.
- Strong experience in Heavy Fabrication / Engineering Manufacturing is essential.
- Experience in handling OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 customers, industrial customers, and large engineering projects.
- Experience in managing the complete RFQ → Costing → Quotation → Negotiation → Order Conversion cycle.
- Exposure to export business development and international customer handling will be an added advantage.
