Role Summary

Kagool is seeking a seasoned Senior Banking Business Analyst for an onsite client engagement with a leading, top-tier bank in UAE. This role is built for an articulate, adaptable banking professional who brings well-rounded experience across multiple banking verticals and functional areas. The ideal candidate excels at operating directly with executive stakeholders, business vertical leads, and technology teams, comfortably taking ambiguous business goals and turning them into clear, actionable requirements, process models, and production-ready solutions.

Candidate Qualifications & Profile

- Demonstrate 7 to 12+ years of hands-on business analysis experience within commercial, retail, or corporate banking environments.
- Possess broad experience across multiple banking verticals, including core operations, lending, cards, payments, risk, or digital banking channels.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in any field, with selection evaluated strictly on practical banking knowledge, analytical rigour, and leadership presence rather than specific technical degrees.
- Exhibit exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of briefing C-level executives, department heads, and steering committees.
- Thrive in quick-paced,



high-ambiguity environments by structuring complex problems into pragmatic, step-by-step business solutions.

Core Responsibilities & Scope of Work

- Engage directly with business vertical leads and executive stakeholders to define project goals, analyze operational pain points, and map target operating models.
- Lead functional discovery sessions and alignment workshops across cross-functional bank departments to resolve conflicting priorities and establish clear scope.
- Author comprehensive, audit-ready Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Requirements Specifications (FRDs) capturing end-to-end business rules and edge cases.
- Design As-Is and To-Be operational workflow diagrams using standard modeling techniques such as BPMN 2.0 and UML sequence flows.
- Translate strategic business requirements into structured user stories with crisp acceptance criteria and definition-of-done for delivery squads.
- Evaluate technical architecture options, system interface designs, and integration touchpoints alongside technology leads to ensure business viability.
- Perform detailed gap analysis between existing legacy banking systems and target enterprise platforms to identify functional missing links and risk areas.
- Execute database queries using SQL to conduct data mapping, investigate transactional anomalies,



and validate data conversion requirements during platform implementations.
- Drive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) end-to-end by preparing business test scenarios, validating functionality against business requirements, and managing defect triage.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior bank leadership by delivering objective feasibility assessments, trade-off evaluations, and strategic recommendations.

Cross-Vertical Banking Knowledge Areas

- Understand core banking operational lifecycle principles across customer onboarding, account management, deposit products, interest calculations, and transaction accounting.
- Comprehend lending and credit workflows across origination, underwriting approvals, disbursement logic, repayment schedules, and delinquency processing.
- Possess practical familiarity with cards and payment processing flows, including transaction authorization, clearing, settlement, digital wallet integration, and payment messaging standards.
- Navigate regulatory compliance frameworks, audit controls, anti-money laundering (AML) requirements, and data privacy policies applicable to regional banking operations.
- Apply structured change management principles to support business adoption, operational readiness, and user training during system rollouts.
