Key Responsibilities
The role will cover a broad range of accounting responsibilities as part of the wider financial team with key responsibilities in areas such as:
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounting and financial reporting activities for UK and Irish clients.
- Prepare and review UK and Irish statutory accounts.
- Manage and support UK and Irish audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Prepare audit working papers, schedules and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with UK and Irish clients, auditors and other professional advisers.
- Respond to audit queries and ensure timely resolution of outstanding matters.
- Review financial records and identify accounting discrepancies and control weaknesses.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
- Perform bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations.
- Assist with year-end accounts preparation and statutory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant UK and Irish accounting standards, legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Review accounting records and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with tax compliance and other statutory requirements where required.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
- Analyse financial information and provide explanations for variances and trends.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls and reporting.
- Manage deadlines across multiple clients and assignments.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and semi-senior accounting staff.
UK & Irish Accountancy and Audit Experience The candidate must have practical experience in:
- UK and Irish statutory accounts preparation
- UK and Irish audit
- Year-end accounts and financial reporting
- Audit planning and execution
- Preparation and review of audit files and working papers
- Liaising directly with UK and Irish clients
- Responding to auditor and client queries
- Financial statement preparation and review
- Reconciliations and review of accounting records
- Internal controls and risk assessment
- Relevant UK and Irish accounting and reporting requirements
- Working with accounting practices or professional services firms
Required Skills & Experience
- 10 years of relevant accounting and audit experience.
- Fully qualified ACA / ACCA / CA / CIMA or equivalent.
- Strong UK and Irish accountancy and audit experience.
- Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts.
- Strong knowledge of UK and Irish accounting practices and financial reporting requirements.
- Good understanding of IFRS and relevant UK/Ireland accounting standards.
- Experience working with UK and Irish clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients, assignments and deadlines.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Accounting Software Experience
Experience with one or more of the following would be advantageous:
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a UK or Irish accountancy practice.
- Experience managing a portfolio of UK/Irish clients.
- Experience with statutory accounts and audit for SMEs.
- Knowledge of UK and Irish tax and compliance requirements.
Pay: ₹120,000.00 per month
