- We are looking for a motivated and result-oriented Academic Counsellor / Team Lead who will be responsible for guiding both freshers and experienced job seekers in identifying the right courses based on their educational background, career goals, skills, and professional experience.The candidate will be responsible for student counselling, course recommendations, lead conversion, achieving sales targets, maintaining management reports, and supporting the team in achieving business objectives. The role requires strong communication, counselling, sales, and team-handling skills.Key Responsibilities1. Student
- ls, experience, and professional goals.
- Identify the appropriate courses, programs, or career paths based on individual requirements.
- Explain course curriculum, benefits, career opportunities, duration, fees, and other relevant details.
- Address prospective students' questions and concerns professionally.
- Follow up with prospective students through calls, messages, and other communication channels.
2. Sales & Lead Conversion
- Convert counselling enquiries and leads into successful course enrolments.
- Achieve individual and team-wise monthly/quarterly sales targets.
- Maintain a structured follow-up process for prospective students.
- Handle objections and provide appropriate solutions to improve conversion rates.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, follow-ups, conversions, and pending prospects.
- Ensure a positive student experience throughout the counselling and admission process.
3. Team Handling & Performance Management
- Guide, motivate, and monitor the performance of the counselling/sales team.
- Allocate leads and responsibilities among team members where required.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Support team members in handling difficult counselling situations and sales objections.
- Track individual team performance against assigned targets.
- Identify performance gaps and provide necessary coaching and guidance.
- Assist management in implementing strategies to improve team productivity and conversions.
4. Reporting & MIS
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by management.
- Prepare reports related to:
- Leads received
- Calls and follow-ups completed
- Counselling sessions
- Conversions/enrolments
- Revenue generated
- Pending follow-ups
- Individual and team performance
- Ensure all CRM/MIS data is updated accurately and on time.
- Provide regular performance updates to management.
- Analyse basic sales and counselling data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement areas.
5. Coordination & Administration
- Coordinate with the academic, operations, admissions, and management teams as required.
- Ensure smooth handover of converted students to the relevant departments.
- Maintain proper documentation of student interactions and enrolments.
- Follow company policies, processes, and reporting standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline; relevant experience in education, counselling, sales,
or training will be an advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in academic counselling, education sales, business development, or a similar role.
- Prior experience in team handling/team leadership is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Robust interpersonal and counselling skills.
- Good negotiation and objection-handling abilities.
- Target-oriented and comfortable working in a sales-driven environment.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets and CRM/MIS reporting.
- Strong follow-up and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to analyse reports and track team performance.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

- Monthly enrolment/conversion target achievement.
- Lead-to-enrolment conversion rate.
- Revenue achievement.
- Follow-up effectiveness.

- Accuracy and timeliness of MIS/management reports.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be confident, persuasive, empathetic, target-oriented, and comfortable handling both students and a team. The candidate should have the ability to understand a learner's career requirements, recommend the right course, convert enquiries into admissions, and simultaneously ensure that the counselling team performs effectively.
