Job Title: Senior VRF / HVAC Technician

Experience: 5–10 years in HVAC / VRF / VRV systems

Job Summary

Responsible for installation, commissioning, servicing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of VRF/VRV and other commercial air-conditioning systems. The Senior Technician should be capable of independently diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control-system faults and leading junior technicians and helpers.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, test, commission, service, and maintain VRF/VRV air-conditioning systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of VRF/VRV, split AC, cassette AC, ductable AC, AHU, FCU and other HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify refrigerant, electrical, mechanical, compressor, PCB, sensor, communication, and control-system faults.
- Carry out refrigerant charging, recovery, vacuuming, pressure testing, and leak detection.
- Check refrigerant piping, insulation, drainage, electrical wiring, communication cables, indoor and outdoor units.
- Troubleshoot VRF error codes, communication failures, sensor faults, PCB issues, and compressor-related problems.
- Perform system performance testing and ensure proper cooling capacity and operating pressures.
- Read and understand electrical wiring diagrams, control diagrams, HVAC drawings, and manufacturer manuals.
- Use HVAC service tools and instruments such as manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, multimeters, clamp meters, leak detectors, and temperature gauges.
- Attend emergency breakdown and customer service calls and provide timely fault rectification.
- Prepare service reports, maintenance records, inspection reports, and spare-parts requirements.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, clients, contractors, and OEM/service teams.




- Lead and guide junior technicians and helpers during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure work is completed according to manufacturer specifications, quality standards, and site safety procedures.
- Identify recurring problems and recommend suitable corrective actions to improve system reliability.
- Maintain tools, equipment, spare parts, and work areas in good condition.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with VRF/VRV air-conditioning systems.
- Excellent HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Valuable knowledge of refrigeration cycles and refrigerant handling.
- Knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, controls, sensors, PCBs, compressors, motors, and contactors.
- Ability to read electrical and HVAC drawings.
- Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and lead a technical team.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Strong safety awareness and problem-solving ability.

Educational Qualification

ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical qualification.

Preferred Experience

Experience with major VRF/VRV brands such as Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, LG, Samsung, Toshiba, Hitachi, Carrier, Panasonic, or equivalent systems is an advantage.
