Employment Type: Full-timePosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SAP ABAP Developer to design, build, and deploy next-generation enterprise applications. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our transition to the clean core paradigm using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP). You will act as a technical lead, collaborating with functional architects and frontend engineers to deliver high-performance, cloud-ready applications on SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP.Key Responsibilities

- Application Architecture: Design and develop end-to-end, high-performance transactional applications using the ABAP RAP framework (Managed and Unmanaged scenarios).
- Data Modeling: Create advanced data models utilizing semantic Core Data Services (CDS) views, abstract entities, and table functions optimized for SAP HANA.
- Business Logic & Behavior: Implement complex business logic inside RAP utilizing Behavior Definitions (BDEF), validations, determinations, actions, and side effects.
- API Development: Expose robust business services via OData V2/V4 web APIs and Service Bindings for integration with SAP Fiori UI and external third-party tools.
- Clean Core Extensions: Implement developer extensibility on-stack and side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP ABAP Environment to maintain a clean digital core.




- Legacy Modernization: Wrap and refactor legacy ABAP code, BAPIs, and function modules into the modern RAP framework using the unmanaged implementation type.
- Technical Leadership: Lead technical code reviews, mentor junior developers on ABAP Cloud best practices, and establish robust git-based transport and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., abapGit).
- Troubleshooting & Tuning: Profile and optimize complex code structures, debug RAP runtime exceptions, and perform SQL performance tuning on SAP HANA.

Required Technical Skills

- Core ABAP: Strong mastery of modern object-oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP) and contemporary ABAP syntax expressions.
- RAP Expertise: At least 23+ years of intensive hands-on experience specifically with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), including Draft handling.
- Data Layer: Expert-level knowledge of Core Data Services (CDS), CDS access controls (DCL), and AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures).
- Connectivity: In-depth experience configuring Service Definitions, Service Bindings, and working with OData V4 services.
- SAP Tooling: Expert knowledge of Eclipse ADT (ABAP Development Tools)—candidates relying solely on SAP GUI SE80 will not fit this requirement.
- Version Control: Familiarity with modern ABAP lifecycle management tools such as abapGit and gCTS.
