SAP MM Consultant– Experience: 8–14 Years

Job Summary We are lookingfor an experienced SAP MM Consultant with 8–14years of hands-on experience inSAP Materials Management. The candidate willbe responsible forimplementing, configuring, supporting, and optimizingSAP MM processes, working closely withbusiness stakeholders andcross-functional teams.

The ideal candidateshould have strongknowledge of Procure-to-Pay(P2P), Purchasing, InventoryManagement, Material Master, Vendor Master/BusinessPartner, Invoice Verification, and integration withFI, SD, PP, and WM/EWM .

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and participateinSAP MM implementation, rollout, enhancement,and support projects.
- Gather business requirements, conduct gap analysis, and translate businessneedsinto SAP solutions.
- Configure SAP MM modules including:

- Purchasing
- Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders

- RFQs and Quotation Management
- Release Strategies / Release Procedures

- Inventory Management
- Goods Receipt / Goods Issue
- Stock Transfers and Transfer Postings

- Physical Inventory

- Invoice Verification

- Special Procurement Processes

- Subcontracting

- Consignment

- Service Procurement
- Design and implementProcure-to-Pay(P2P)business processes.
- Configureand supportpricing procedures, accountdetermination, valuation, and automatic postings.
- Work onmaterial master, vendor/business partner master, purchasing info records, source lists, andquota arrangements.




- Analyze and resolveproduction issues, performroot-cause analysis, and provide permanentsolutions.
- Prepare functional specificationsforreports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms.
- Work closely withABAP developers andtechnical teams forRICEFW objects.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, regressiontesting, and supportUAT.
- Preparefunctional documentation, configuration documents, test scripts, anduser manuals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams includingSAP FI, SD, PP, WM/EWM, QM, and Aribawhere applicable.
- Support data migrationactivities including material,vendor/business partner, and purchasing-relateddata.
- Provide guidance andmentoring to juniorSAP MM consultants.
- Participate in workshopswithbusiness users andprovide recommendationsfor process improvements.
- Support cutover, go-live, hypercare, andpost-productionstabilization activities.
- Identify opportunities forprocess standardizationand SAP best-practice adoption.

Required Skills

- 8–14 yearsof SAP MMexperiencewith robust functionalexpertise.
- Strong understanding ofend-to-endP2P processes.
- Hands-on experiencein SAP MMconfiguration and productionsupport.




- Good knowledge ofInventory Management andLogistics Invoice Verification.
- Strong understanding ofMM-FI integration, particularly account determinationand automatic postings.
- Working knowledge ofintegration withSAP SD, PP, WM/EWM, andQM.
- Experience withSAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
- Knowledge of S/4HANA procurement processesand simplificationsis preferred.
- Experience working withbusiness stakeholders andindependently managingrequirements.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, andcommunication skills.
- Ability to workeffectively in aglobal/cross-functionalenvironment.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

- SAP S/4HANAProcurement certification.
- Experience withSAP Fioriapplications.
- Exposure toSAP Ariba / CentralProcurement.
- Experience withSAP EWM orWM integration.
- Knowledge of IDocs, APIs,interfaces, and integrationconcepts.
- Experience in SAPMM migration/rolloutprojects.
- Exposure toSAP Activate methodology.
- Experienceleading small teamsor workstreams.

Education

- Bachelor’s or Master’sdegree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain, ora related discipline.
- SAP MM certificationis an advantage.

Senior-Level Expectationsfor 8–14Years Forcandidates at thisexperience level, therole should typicallyinclude solution ownership andstakeholder management , not just configuration. The consultant shouldbe able toindependently handlerequirements, design solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, coordinate with technicalteams, and guidejunior consultants.
