The Senior BW/HANA Data Engineer will design, develop, and support robust SAP BW on HANA and Native HANA data solutions that enable accurate, timely, and actionable business insights. Serve as the deputy to the SAP BW/HANA Platform Owner, supporting platform governance, delivery management, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence while ensuring continuity of leadership and service performance Skills / Knowledge / Experience 810 years of SAP BW/BI experience with strong hands-on expertise in SAP BW on HANA and Native HANA development and support. Expertise in SAP BW data modeling including ADSOs, Composite Providers, Transformations, DTPs, Process Chains, and Query development.

Strong HANA development skills including Calculation Views, SQLScript, advanced SQL, performance tuning, and data modeling.

Experience in designing and delivering end-to-end data warehousing solutions, including requirements gathering, technical design, testing, and deployment. Proven troubleshooting and support experience, including resolving data quality, performance, and production support issues in complex SAP landscapes.

Experience in SAP BW modernization and migration initiatives, including BW on HANA, BW/4HANA, and S/4HANA reporting transformations. Functional knowledge of Finance (FI/CO), COPA, Supply Chain, Procurement, MM, or SD processes.

Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including sprint planning, estimation, and collaborative development practices Technical leadership experience, including mentoring team members, conducting design reviews, and coordinating with global or offshore teams.

State what is to be done to what - the end result e.g. Develop, agree and implement detailed sales plans to increase market share in Europe): Design, develop and implement end-to-end SAP BW on HANA and Native HANA data solutions to meet business reporting, analytics, and data integration requirements while ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into technical specifications, data models, and reporting solutions that support informed decision-making. Lead and support SAP BW/HANA development activities including data modelling, data acquisition, transformations, process chains, HANA views, and SQL development to deliver high-quality solutions. Drive data platform modernization and migration initiatives including BW on HANA, BW/4HANA, and related transformation projects to improve solution efficiency, simplify architecture, and support future business needs. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data processing, quality, and performance issues to ensure reliable and timely delivery of business-critical information. Collaborate with internal and external technical teams including SAP Basis, Infrastructure, Security, Functional, and Application teams to support system stability, integrations, deployments, and issue resolution. Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and delivery support to development teams by promoting development standards,



supporting sprint planning, conducting design reviews, and sharing best practices. Identify and implement continuous improvements in data architecture, processes, and development practices to enhance operational efficiency, solution quality, and overall platform effectiveness. Scope of the job (give details of nature and scope of role) Will be a Senior Member of the BW/HANA team (approx 5 people), reporting to the BW/HANA Platform Owner In partnership with the Platform Owner they will be supporting platform governance, delivery management, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence while ensuring continuity of leadership and service performance Will have to acquire a good knowledge of the BW/HANA team operations and the relevant systems processes and procedures. The role requires interfacing with the business community, as well as various IT teams. The successful applicant will be involved in a variety of project-related tasks that can vary in duration from a few days to many months. There will be multiple tasks running in parallel, and you will be expected to deliver effective solutions to tight timescales.
