Designation: Sample In-Charge

Reporting To: Production Manager / Production Director

Location: Karur, Tamil Nadu

Job Purpose:

To manage the complete sample-development process from design or buyer requirement to approved production-ready sample, ensuring correct measurements, fabric, accessories, workmanship, quality and timely completion.

Key Responsibilities:

- Receive and understand sample requirements from Merchandising, Design and Production teams.
- Study product specifications, measurements, construction details and reference samples.
- Plan daily sample-development activities and priorities.
- Coordinate fabric, trims, accessories, labels and other materials required for sampling.
- Coordinate with Cutting Master, Sample Tailors, QC, Designers and Merchandisers.
- Guide sample tailors regarding construction method and required workmanship.
- Develop samples for products such as aprons, oven gloves, pot holders, kitchen towels, table linen, cushion covers, curtains, bags and other home-textile products.
- Ensure correct measurements, shape, stitching, fabric quality, colour and accessories.
- Check samples thoroughly before submission to the concerned Merchandiser/Management.
- Ensure buyer comments and corrections are incorporated accurately.
- Handle development samples, fit/size samples, approval samples, pre-production samples and other required samples.
- Maintain approved samples and sample records properly.
- Prepare sample status and pending reports.




- Monitor sample lead time and ensure samples are completed according to deadlines.
- Minimize fabric and accessory wastage during sample development.
- Coordinate with Production before bulk manufacturing to explain approved sample requirements.
- Hand over approved samples, specifications and construction details clearly to the production team.
- Identify sampling problems and take corrective action immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness, discipline and proper material control in the sample section.
- Support current-product development and continuous improvement of product quality.

Required Skills: Strong home-textile product knowledge, stitching and construction knowledge, measurement/specification understanding, fabric and accessory knowledge, sample planning, quality checking, problem-solving, team handling, communication and time management. Experience: Preferably 3–5 years in home-textile sampling/product development, with experience handling products relevant to Airwill’s range.

Candidate Location Requirement

Candidates from Karur and surrounding Karur areas only should apply.

Preference will be given to candidates who are currently residing in Karur or nearby areas and can commute to the Manmangalam workplace regularly.
