Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and statutory-qualified EHS Professional to lead, drive, and sustain workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance across our plant operations. The candidate will be responsible for developing a proactive safety culture, managing high-hazard operational risks, maintaining ISO standards (45001 & 14001), and ensuring 100% compliance with local statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Statutory & Legal Compliance

- Ensure strict adherence to The Factories Act 1948, State Factory Rules, Pollution Control Board norms (Air/Water Acts), PESO, and Hazardous Waste Management Rules.
- Manage liaison with government authorities (Inspectorate of Factories/DISH, PCB, Fire Services) and handle all statutory licenses, consents, and annual returns.
- Maintain statutory registers (e.g., Form 30/Dangerous Occurrences, Accident Registers, Health Checkup Registers).

2. Operational Risk & Hazard Management

- Lead Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Process Safety Management (PSM) across all shop-floor and maintenance activities.
- Enforce 100% compliance with the Permit to Work (PTW) system, including High-Risk activities (Work at Height, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Heavy Lifting, LOTO/Energy Isolation).
- Oversee third-party statutory inspections (TPI) for lifting tackles, pressure vessels, EOT cranes, and machinery safety.

3. Incident Management & Safety Audits

- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and WHY-WHY analysis for all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe acts/conditions, implementing strict Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Conduct internal EHS audits as per IS 14489 and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 standards.




- Track and publish monthly EHS KPIs, MIS reports, leading/lagging indicators, and safety dashboards.

4. Emergency Response & Fire Safety

- Formulate and update the On-Site Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and lead regular mock drills (fire, chemical spill, gas leak, evacuation).
- Ensure healthiness and inspection of fixed/portable fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, alarm systems).

5. Safety Culture & Training

- Plan and deliver the annual Safety Training Calendar, including employee/contractor inductions, specialized safety modules, and daily Tool Box Talks (TBT).
- Implement Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), 5S + Safety initiatives, Kaizen, and safety promotion campaigns (National Safety Week, Fire Safety Day).

Required Candidate Profile & Qualifications Mandatory Education & Certification

- Statutory Qualification (Mandatory): ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) or PDIS (Post Diploma in Industrial Safety) issued directly by RLI/CLI (DGFASLI) or State Technical Examination Boards (e.g., MSBTE, WBSCT, AP-SBTET).
- Academic Foundation: B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Fire & Safety) OR B.Sc (Physics/Chemistry) / Diploma in Engineering.

Preferred Certifications (Bonus)

- NEBOSH IGC / CSP.
- Lead Auditor certification for ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015.

Experience & Technical Skills

- Years of Experience: 5 to 12+ years of hands-on EHS experience in manufacturing, continuous processing, chemical plants, thermal power, or heavy engineering environments.
- Proficient in SAP / ERP Safety Modules or digital EHS tracking tools.
- Robust leadership, communication, and contractor management skills.
