Route Planning & Strategy Lead

1. Route Planning & Optimisation

- Develop and optimise daily, weekly, and long-term route plans.
- Analyse demand patterns, passenger/customer requirements, traffic conditions, and operational constraints.
- Identify opportunities to reduce travel time, route distance, fuel consumption, and operational costs.
- Ensure optimum utilisation of vehicles, drivers, and available capacity.
- Continuously review routes and make adjustments based on operational performance.

2. Strategy & Business Planning

- Develop route and network strategies aligned with business growth objectives.
- Conduct feasibility studies for current routes, locations, and service areas.
- Support expansion plans through demand analysis and route viability assessment.
- Develop cost-benefit analysis for route changes and operational initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for improving margins and operational productivity.

3. Data Analysis & MIS

- Monitor route-level KPIs and operational performance.
- Analyse data on utilisation, occupancy, revenue, cost per km, turnaround time, and service levels.
- Prepare dashboards and MIS reports for management review.




- Use data insights to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

4. Operations Coordination

- Work closely with Operations, Fleet, Technology, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service teams.
- Coordinate with field teams for implementation of route plans.
- Resolve route-related operational challenges and ensure timely execution.
- Monitor adherence to planned routes and identify deviations.

5. Cost Optimization

- Identify opportunities to reduce fuel, manpower, vehicle, and other transportation costs.
- Optimize vehicle allocation and fleet utilization.
- Track route profitability and recommend corrective measures where required.

6. Technology & Process Improvement

- Leverage route-planning, mapping, GPS, and transportation management systems.
- Explore technology solutions for automated route optimization and real-time monitoring.
- Develop SOPs and processes for route planning and review.
