nAbout the Role – Robotics Instructor
nNewton School of Technology invites applications for the position of Robotics Engineer +
nInstructor within the interdisciplinary engineering and science department.
nThis role is ideal for professionals or academicians with strong expertise in Robotics,
nControl Systems, Mechatronics, and Applied Physics, who are passionate about hands-on
nexperimentation, problem-based learning, and mentoring students in engineering
nfundamentals.
nThe selected candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering theory and laboratory
ncourses, guiding student projects, and integrating real-world engineering applications into the curriculum.
The role requires collaboration with faculty across Computer Science, AI, and
nEngineering domains to promote interdisciplinary learning.

nKey Responsibilities
nTeaching and Academic Delivery
nDesign and deliver project-based courses in Robotics and Applied Physics, including:
n● Mechanics, Kinematics, and Dynamics
n● Electronics and Sensors
n● Control Systems and Feedback Mechanisms
n● Microcontrollers and Embedded Systems (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, etc.)
n● Robotics Programming (Python / C++)
n● Computer Vision for Robotics
n● Motion Planning and Navigation
n● Lab-based experimentation in physics and robotics
nCurriculum Development
n● Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of Robotics and Applied Physics curriculum
n● Integrate real-world engineering problems, industry case studies, and hands-on lab work
nStudent Mentorship
n● Guide students in robotics projects such as autonomous robots, drones, robotic arms, and IoT-based systems
n● Provide technical feedback on design, implementation, and testing
nCareer Guidance
n● Mentor students on careers in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, and Embedded
nSystems
n● Support students in preparing for internships and technical roles
nIndustry Alignment
n● Stay updated with advancements in robotics, automation,
AI-integrated robotics, and smart systems
n● Bring contemporary tools and practices into classroom teaching
nCollaboration
n● Work closely with AI/ML faculty to integrate robotics with computer vision and machine learning
n● Collaborate with engineering and lab teams for practical learning modules
nAssessment and Evaluation
n● Design practical lab assignments, mini-projects, and capstone evaluations
n
nQualifications and Experience
n● Master’s degree or Phd in Physics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
n● Minimum 4+ years of hands-on industry or academic experience in Robotics, Automation, or Applied Physics
n● Demonstrated experience in building robotic systems, experimental physics setups, or real-world engineering applications
n● Strong conceptual understanding of mechanics, electronics, and control systems
n● Demonstrated commitment to teaching, mentorship, and hands-on learning

nRequired Skills
nTechnical Competencies
n● Strong foundation in Physics and Engineering principles
n● Hands-on experience with:
n○ Microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32)
n○ Sensors and actuators
n○ Robotics frameworks (ROS preferred)
n○ Python and/or C++ programming
n○ CAD tools (SolidWorks / Fusion 360 – preferred)
n○ Basic AI/CV integration in robotics (valuable to have)
