Company Description The National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways & Coasts (NTCPWC) serves as a specialized hub for technological innovation and applied research in the port and maritime sector. It functions as the technology arm of the Ministry of Shipping, providing advanced technical solutions and consultancy.

NTCPWC supports major ports, the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), and other institutions in addressing complex engineering and operational challenges. The centre focuses on developing practical, sustainable, and cutting-edge technologies that improve port infrastructure, waterways management, and coastal resilience.

Role Description The Resident Engineer will work on-site in the Varanasi and Patna, India on a contract basis, providing technical oversight and support for NTCPWC projects in the region. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising field activities, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring that engineering designs and specifications are correctly implemented.

The role involves monitoring construction and installation work, conducting site inspections, and preparing technical reports, progress updates, and documentation.

The Resident

Engineer will assist in troubleshooting engineering issues, verifying compliance with safety and quality standards, and facilitating communication between NTCPWC, local authorities, and contractors. The position may also require supporting data collection, assisting with surveys and measurements, and contributing to the optimization of maritime and coastal infrastructure solutions.

Work Locations: Varanasi, Patna and Guwahati.

Qualifications

- Robust foundation in civil,



coastal, marine, or structural engineering, preferably with experience in ports, waterways, or coastal infrastructure.
- Proficiency in site supervision, construction monitoring, and implementation of engineering designs and standards.
- Ability to prepare clear technical reports, documentation, and progress summaries for diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant national and international codes, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices.
- Capability to conduct field surveys, basic measurements, and data collection in challenging coastal and maritime environments.
- Effective communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Adaptability to remote, on-site working conditions and willingness to reside in the Varanasi, Patna and Guwahati for the contract period.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Civil, Coastal, Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Safety and MEP specialist or related discipline); prior experience in government of state and central or research projects is an advantage.

Urgent Requirement: BE graduated with min 5years experienced or 2021 degree passed out Civil Engineer-06nos., Electrical-02nos., MEP-02nos., Safety Engineer-02nos. with diploma 02years courses or NEPOSH completed candidates are required for Patna, Varanasi, and Guwahati location to Project management Consultant (PMC).
