nRole Summary:

nThe Application Runbook Administrator is responsible for administering and

noperationalizing client's Cutover SaaS platform to plan, build, govern, and execute runbooks for

napplication recovery, environment changes, and key operational events. This role ensures runbooks

nare accurate, standardized, auditable, and aligned to change management and IT resilience

npractices, enabling predictable cutovers and reduced operational risk.

nReporting/Alignment: Aligned to the IT Resilience Team (Disaster Recovery Team), partnering closely

nwith application owners, infrastructure/Cloud teams, QA, InfoSec, and Service Management.

n● Primary Focus: Cutover runbook lifecycle management (build, maintain, execute, improve).

n● Core Value: Improve execution consistency, visibility, and auditability for resilience

nvalidation and critical events.

n● Scope: Enterprise applications, shared services, and cross-team dependencies where

ncoordinated task execution is required.

nKey Responsibilities

n

nThe Application Runbook Administrator owns day-to-day Cutover administration and enables

ndelivery teams to produce high-quality runbooks that are ready for controlled execution.

n● Administer Cutover workspaces, runbook templates, user access/roles, and configuration in

nalignment with Synchrony policies.

n● Build and maintain standardized runbook templates (e.g., DR test, migration events)

nincluding phase structure, task types, and required metadata.

n● Partner with application and platform teams to capture end-to-end cutover steps,

ndependencies, owners, prerequisites, validation checks, and rollback procedures.

n● Ensure runbooks meet governance standards: completeness, naming conventions, task

nclarity, time estimates, sequencing, and required approvals.

n● Coordinate cutover readiness reviews and dry runs; confirm execution owners,

ncommunications plan, and validation criteria are in place.

n● Lead or facilitate runbook execution in Cutover: launch events, manage task progression,

nmonitor blockers, maintain real-time status, and ensure timely escalations.

n● Integrate Cutover usage with broader release/change processes (e.g., change records,

nrelease calendars, maintenance windows) and maintain traceability for audits.

n● Manage Cutover reporting and dashboards: runbook status, completion metrics, cycle time,

nmissed steps, and post-event outcomes.





n● Maintain runbook documentation and knowledge articles; provide training and coaching for

nnew teams adopting Cutover.

n● Drive continuous improvement via post-implementation reviews (PIRs), lessons learned, and

ntemplate/process enhancements.

n1) Intake: Receive request for a recent/updated runbook and confirm scope, timeline, and

nstakeholders.

n2) Build: Draft or update runbook in Cutover using approved templates and required controls.

n3) Review: Conduct readiness review with owners; ensure validations, communications, and

nrollback are defined.

n4) Execute: Facilitate the event; track progress, handle escalations, and provide leadership

nupdates.

n5) Close: Capture results, evidence, and lessons learned; update templates and artifacts.

nRequired Qualifications and Skills

nThis role requires strong operational discipline, cross-functional coordination, and proficiency with

nrunbook-driven execution in regulated environments.

n● Experience administering or power-using Cutover.

n● Hands-on experience with IT Resilience, Incident Management (ITIL), and production support

npractices.

n● Ability to translate technical procedures into clear, executable, step-by-step tasks with well(1)defined ownership and acceptance criteria.

n● Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills (coordinating cross-team tasks).

n● Knowledge of SDLC concepts, environment management, and deployment patterns (e.g.,

nblue/green, rolling, canary) at a conceptual level.

n● Familiarity with incident/problem management and post-event review practices.

n● Strong attention to detail, documentation rigor, and an audit-ready mindset.

n● Comfort working in fast-paced schedules, including after-hours maintenance windows when

nneeded.

n● Experience operating in financial services and/or other highly regulated environments.

n● Familiarity with ServiceNow or comparable ITSM platforms (change, incident, CMDB) and

nintegrating runbooks with change records.

n● Basic data/reporting skills (e.g., exporting runbook data, trend analysis, KPI creation).

n● Understanding of access management concepts (role-based access control, least privilege).

n● Experience supporting DR exercises, major releases, or enterprise cutover events involving

nmultiple systems and teams.

n● Exposure to Agile/DevOps delivery models and release trains; ability to adapt runbook

ngovernance to iterative delivery.
