About the Role

We're growing our in-house mobile team and hiring a Mobile Developer to join MomentText full-time. You'll build and ship iOS and Android apps across client engagements and our own products, working closely with our designers, backend engineers and product leads. Some projects are fresh builds; others mean taking over an existing app and making it better. As you grow, you'll also help shape how MomentText builds mobile: our shared components, tooling and standards.

What You'll Do

- Build and ship cross-platform apps in React Native (TypeScript) for iOS and Android, from the first sprint through to App Store and Play Store release.
- Write native modules and platform-specific code in Swift or Kotlin when React Native alone isn't enough, such as device APIs, background tasks, performance-critical screens or third-party SDKs.
- Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication, push notifications, in-app payments, analytics and other SDKs.
- Pick up existing codebases:



debug crashes, fix performance issues and refactor where it makes sense.
- Turn Figma designs into polished, accessible interfaces that feel native on both platforms.
- Write tests, take part in code reviews, and contribute to our shared mobile component library and project templates.
- Own the release pipeline: build configurations, signing, CI/CD, store submissions and post-launch crash monitoring.
- Work with project leads and, where needed, client stakeholders to estimate work, flag risks early and explain technical trade-offs clearly.

What We're Looking For

- 3–5 years of skilled mobile development, including at least 2 years building React Native apps released on both stores.
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and solid React fundamentals (hooks, state management with Redux, Zustand, React Query or similar).
- Hands-on experience with native iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin), enough to write and debug native modules and resolve Xcode and Gradle build issues.
- Experience with the App Store and Google Play release process, including signing, TestFlight/internal testing tracks and store review guidelines.
- Comfort with Git, pull-request workflows and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Fastlane, Bitrise or EAS.
- Good debugging habits and familiarity with profiling tools (React Native DevTools, Xcode Instruments, Android Studio Profiler).
- Clear written and spoken English; you'll work remotely with teammates and clients across time zones.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

- Offline-first apps and local storage (SQLite, WatermelonDB, MMKV).
- Real-time features such as WebSockets, in-app chat or video calling SDKs.
- Some backend exposure (e.g. Node.js) so you can debug across the stack.
- Experience in a services or agency setting, working on more than one project at a time.
- Apps on the stores you can point us to, or open-source contributions.
