He is also known as the Father of the RISAT series of imaging satellites and lead designer of the NASA-ISRO dual-frequency SAR (NISAR) mission.

Role Description This is a full time, on-site Radio Frequency Engineer role based in Kolkata.

The Radio Frequency

Engineer will design, develop, and optimize RF circuits and subsystems for advanced SAR and related radar platforms.

Responsibilities include creating and reviewing RF and circuit designs, performing simulations, supporting prototyping, and conducting validation and performance testing.



The role involves frequent use of measurement equipment such as network analyzers and spectrum analyzers to characterize components and systems, diagnose issues, and refine designs. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, document technical findings, and contribute to continuous improvement of radar system performance and reliability.

Qualifications

- Strong RF design and RF circuits skills, with experience in high-frequency systems.
- Proficiency in circuit design, including schematic capture, layout considerations, and component selection.
- Hands-on experience using RF test equipment such as network analyzers and spectrum analyzers for measurement and troubleshooting.
- Solid foundation in electromagnetics, microwave engineering, and signal integrity.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, or similar) is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Kolkata, collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, and document work clearly.
- Prior experience in radar, RF front-end design, or aerospace/defense domains is beneficial.
