Quantity Surveyor – Wastewater Treatment Projects Overall Purpose of the Position The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of wastewater treatment, water treatment, recycling, and environmental engineering projects. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, budgets, and commercial proposals while ensuring projects are delivered within approved financial parameters.

The Quantity

Surveyor will work closely with the Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management teams to optimize project costs, maximize profitability, and support successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities Cost Estimation & Tendering

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, equipment, civil works, piping, electrical and instrumentation systems, labour, and subcontracted services for industrial and municipal wastewater treatment projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents to develop accurate project cost assessments.
- Conduct quantity take-offs from engineering and construction drawings.
- Assist in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.

Contract & Commercial Management
- Review contract terms, specifications, and scope of work to identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Evaluate variations, change orders, and additional work requirements throughout project execution.
- Prepare and verify bills of quantities, interim payment certificates, and final accounts.
- Maintain accurate project cost records and supporting documentation.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
- Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.




- Evaluate vendor pricing and recommend cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Support negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve optimum commercial outcomes.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing of project materials and services.

Project Cost Control & Monitoring
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track actual costs against estimated budgets and report cost variances.
- Provide cost-saving recommendations while maintaining quality, safety, and project requirements.
- Support project managers in financial forecasting and budget management.

Site Measurement & Quantity Verification
- Conduct site visits and measurements before, during, and after project execution.
- Verify quantities completed and certify work progress for payment purposes.
- Assess variations and additional works arising during construction activities.

Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, procurement, finance, and project teams to ensure commercial alignment.
- Provide technical and commercial support during client discussions and negotiations.
- Maintain qualified relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of quantity surveying, cost estimation,



and contract administration.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, BOQ preparation, estimation software, and ERP systems.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering discipline.
- 3 to 8 years of experience in quantity surveying, estimation, or commercial management within water, wastewater, environmental, infrastructure, or EPC projects.
- Experience in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment projects is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and project cost management.

Pay: ₹40,620.30 - ₹65,965.88 per month
