Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil / Electrical Engineering with knowledge of QA/QC systems; ISO 9001 certification preferred.

Experience: 8 to 12 years of QA/QC experience in 400 kV and above transmission line and substation construction projects.

Role & responsibilities The Quality Engineer will represent the Project Management Consultant at site, monitoring QA/QC compliance for 400 kV and above transmission line and substation works. The role focuses on contractor quality oversight, inspection coordination, non-conformance control, documentation review, compliance with approved specifications, and support for defect-free project delivery.

- Act as PMC quality representative for 400 kV and above transmission line and substation works.
- Monitor EPC contractor compliance with approved quality plans, ITPs, method statements, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Review construction readiness, including approved drawings, materials, inspection formats, test reports, and work-front clearances.
- Witness inspections for tower foundations, erection, stringing, substation civil works, equipment foundations, structural works, cable trenches, earthing, and related activities.
- Review MTCs, calibration records, inspection requests, checklists, NCRs, quality records, and final dossiers.
- Identify deviations, non-conformances, defects, documentation gaps, and workmanship issues; recommend corrective and preventive actions.




- Coordinate with client, EPC contractor, engineering, construction, safety, vendors, laboratories, and subcontractors for quality issue resolution.
- Participate in audits, inspections, joint measurements, progress reviews, punch closure, and contractor coordination meetings.
- Track quality KPIs, maintain PMC records, prepare reports, escalate critical issues, and support final inspection, handover, and completion certification.

Preferred candidate profile

- Hands-on QA/QC experience in 400 kV and above transmission line and AIS/GIS substation projects, preferably in PMC, client-side, EPC, or owners engineer roles.
- Exposure to quality requirements for tower foundations, tower erection, stringing, substation civil works, equipment foundations, structural works, cable trenches, earthing, and electrical installation interfaces.
- Knowledge of QA/QC systems, ITPs, inspection procedures, NCR management, root cause analysis, material testing, calibration control, and quality documentation.
- Ability to review contractor quality plans, method statements, inspection requests, checklists, test reports, material approvals, and final handover dossiers.
- Experience in conducting audits, inspections, quality meetings, punch point tracking, and project quality reporting.
