Role : Quality Engineer - Automation Specialist (API Platform)

Experience: 6 to 8 Years

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Quality Engineer - Automation Specialist with strong experience in API automation testing using Java and RestAssured. The role involves ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and security of APIs and microservices in a cloud-native environment. You will work closely with development, product, architecture, and DevOps teams to implement automation-first quality practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for APIs and microservices.
- Create and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test cases.
- Validate REST APIs, request/response payloads, HTTP protocols, and error scenarios.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Support testing activities in cloud-native and containerized environments.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation initiatives.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report defects across distributed systems.
- Track test results, quality metrics, and process improvements.

Required Skills

- Robust hands-on experience with Java and RestAssured.
- Good understanding of:

1. REST APIs
2. Microservices Architecture
3. HTTP Protocols & Status Codes
4. API Testing Concepts

- Experience testing cloud-native applications.
- Hands-on experience with:

1. Docker
2. Git

- Experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks.




- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Java 17 or Java 21.
- Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Exposure to Kubernetes-based tools such as:

1. ArgoCD
2. GitLab CI/CD
3. Tyk API Gateway

- Understanding of API security concepts:

1. OAuth 2.0
2. JWT

- Familiarity with Swagger and OpenAPI Specification (OAS).

Preferred Experience

- Testing enterprise-scale API platforms.
- Performance, scalability, and resilience testing.
- DevSecOps and Shift-Left Testing practices.
- Working in distributed, cloud-native environments.
