Job Title: Sheet Metal Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly meticulous and experienced Sheet Metal Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will perform visual, dimensional, and structural inspections on raw materials, in-process fabrications, and finished metal products. You will utilize precision measuring tools, interpret complex engineering blueprints, and enforce ISO 9001 and AWS standards to ensure zero-defect delivery to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Dimensional Inspection: Measure high-precision fabricated components against engineering drawings using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Blueprint Verification: Read and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;) blueprints, CAD models, and customer specifications.
- Weld & Finish Inspection: Conduct visual inspections of welds (under AWS standards), material finishes (powder coating, plating, deburring), and structural integrity.
- First Article Inspection (FAI): Perform and document First Article Inspections on new setups to authorize full production runs.
- Defect Documentation: Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming materials. Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
- Root-Cause Analysis: Partner with shop floor fabricators, CNC programmers, and engineers to conduct root-cause analyses on structural defects and implement corrective actions.
- Calibrations:



Maintain and log the calibration of all shared shop measurement instruments and gauging tools to ensure testing accuracy.

Skills & Qualifications

- Blueprint Reading & GD&T;: Proficient in reading complex fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and understanding strict geometric tolerances.
- Precision Tools: Mastery of hand-held inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, protractors, pin gauges, thread gauges).
- Metalworking Knowledge: Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes including laser cutting, shearing, CNC punching, press brake bending, and welding (TIG/MIG).
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot minute deviations, surface defects, micro-cracks, or dimensional variations under fast-paced manufacturing conditions.
- Physical Stamina: Comfortable standing on the manufacturing floor for long periods, handling metal parts, and safely navigating heavy machinery areas.

Education & Experience Requirements

- Experience: 3+ years of direct QA/QC inspection experience specifically within a sheet metal fabrication or precision machining setting.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade school certification in manufacturing engineering, welding, or precision machining is highly preferred.
- Certifications (Preferred): Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI). Experience operating FARO arms or programmable CMMs is a major plus.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
