Job SummaryWe are looking for a QC Engineer to join our stainless steel manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that raw materials, manufacturing processes, and finished products meet specified quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect and monitor the quality of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished stainless steel products.
- Perform dimensional, visual, and surface-quality inspections at different stages of production.
- Review and verify material specifications, drawings, inspection standards, and customer requirements.
- Conduct and monitor tests such as:
- Chemical composition / PMI
- Hardness testing
- Tensile and other mechanical tests
- Surface finish and dimensional inspection
- Corrosion-related tests, where applicable
- Coordinate with production and other departments to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test reports, rejection reports, and quality records.
- Handle non-conformities and support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor process parameters and ensure compliance with approved quality procedures.
- Ensure proper identification, traceability, and documentation of materials and finished products.
- Assist in internal, customer, and third-party quality inspections/audits.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as ASTM, ASME, EN, ISO, and customer-specific specifications, as applicable.
- Support calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.




- Prepare Material Test Certificates (MTC), inspection reports, and other quality documentation when required.
- Maintain a strong focus on reducing rejection, rework, and customer complaints.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production, or related engineering discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in Quality Control, preferably in stainless steel, steel, metal processing, fabrication, or related manufacturing industries.
- Good knowledge of stainless steel grades such as SS 304, 316, 321, 310, 410, 430, etc.
- Knowledge of inspection instruments such as Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, gauges, surface roughness tester, etc.
- Understanding of material testing and quality inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of 7 QC tools, RCA, CAPA, 5 Why, and basic problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and quality documentation.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with PMI / OES / spectrometer testing.
- Knowledge of NDT methods such as UT, DPT, MPT, or relevant certifications.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 QMS.
- Experience in handling customer and third-party inspections.
- Knowledge of stainless steel manufacturing processes such as rolling, annealing, pickling, cutting, slitting, polishing, and finishing, depending on plant operations.
- Solid analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
