We are looking for a Quality Engineer to take charge of inspection in our machine shop, covering incoming inspection of cut and fabricated material, in-process inspection during machining and final inspection before dispatch of industrial gearbox bodies, pump components and heat exchanger parts.

Our inspection route runs in three defined stages incoming inspection, in-process inspection during production, and final inspection with PDI and release for dispatch. The candidate must be able to inspect independently against drawing, take a explicit accept or reject decision, and document it fully.

Key Responsibilities

- Incoming inspection of material received from the cutting and fabrication sections cut dimensions, visual and

aesthetic check, punching / marking verification and review of MTC and UT documents.
- In-process inspection during machining setting approval, first-piece approval and stage-wise dimensional checks.
- Final inspection of machined components dimensional verification, punching, document review, PDI, raising the

inspection call and issuing Ready For Dispatch clearance.
- Inspect using vernier, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, depth gauge, dial indicator, bevel protractor, slip gauges

and large-range measuring instruments.
- Verify geometrical tolerances on heavy machined parts flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity, squareness,

concentricity, runout, true position and centre distance between bores.
- Maintain plate and material traceability throughout heat number, plate number and MTC correlation for every job.
- Prepare inspection reports, PDIR and dimensional reports required for customer dispatch documentation.
- Identify,



segregate and record non-conforming material; raise NCRs and follow up disposition with Production.
- Carry out rejection and rework analysis; support root cause analysis and corrective / preventive action.
- Maintain the calibration schedule of all measuring instruments and gauges and ensure validity before use.
- Attend customer inspections and third-party inspections at the works and close observations raised.
- Maintain quality records and documentation as required under ISO 9001.

Preferred candidate profile

- Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
- 5 to 7 years of quality inspection experience in a machine shop, heavy engineering or precision engineering unit.
- Strong drawing reading with , tolerance stack-up, surface finish, machining and welding symbols.
- Hands-on with all standard measuring and inspection instruments; CMM and large-component measurement

experience will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of boring, milling, drilling and turning processes and the typical defects arising from each.
- Working knowledge of MTC review, UT report review, material traceability, NCR, CAPA and calibration control.
- Experience with gearbox housings, pump casings, heat exchanger components or similar heavy machined assemblies

will be strongly preferred.
- Exposure to customer and third-party inspection, PDI and dispatch documentation.
