About the role

Rohith Enterprises is hiring a QC Lab Technician for its packaged drinking water plant in Hyderabad. The role involves routine microbiological and chemical testing, maintaining laboratory records, monitoring product quality and supporting applicable FSSAI requirements and customer specifications.

You will be the plant’s sole in office laboratory employee, reporting to management and coordinating with external testing laboratories. Candidates should be organised, careful with laboratory procedures and prompt in reporting abnormal results.

Responsibilities

- Collect and identify raw-water, treated-water and finished-product samples according to the approved sampling plan.
- Carry out assigned microbiological tests using approved methods, including sample preparation, media preparation, incubation and recording results.
- Perform routine physical and chemical checks, including pH, TDS, conductivity, turbidity, hardness, alkalinity and disinfectant residuals, as applicable.
- Maintain accurate sample, test, equipment and batch records.
- Check laboratory equipment, maintain calibration records and report equipment faults.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness,



follow aseptic practices and handle chemicals and laboratory waste safely.
- Support hygiene monitoring and verification of cleaning and sanitation.
- Coordinate sample submissions to external laboratories and track test reports.
- Immediately report out-of-specification results and support investigations and corrective actions.
- Support routine packaging and production-quality checks as assigned.

Qualifications

- B.Sc. in Microbiology preferred.
- B.Sc. Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related discipline will also be considered if the candidate has relevant practical laboratory skills.
- Freshers with strong practical laboratory training are welcome. Relevant work experience is preferred.
- Experience in packaged drinking water, food and beverages, or a water-testing laboratory is preferred but not compulsory.
- An M.Sc. is not required.

Skills required

- Practical understanding of microbiological sampling, aseptic handling and contamination prevention.
- Basic knowledge of water chemistry and routine laboratory testing.
- Ability to follow written procedures, perform calculations and record results accurately.
- Basic computer skills, including Excel.
- Ability to recognise abnormal results and escalate them promptly.
