Position: QC Engineer / QC In-Charge – RMC Plant

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining the quality of raw materials, concrete production, fresh concrete and hardened concrete at the RMC plant. Ensure concrete is produced as per approved mix designs, project specifications and applicable IS standards. RMC quality control commonly includes aggregate testing, slump testing, cube strength testing, mix-design control and proper laboratory documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect and test incoming cement, sand, aggregates, admixtures, fly ash/GGBS and water.
- Conduct aggregate tests including sieve analysis, moisture content, water absorption, specific gravity, bulk density, flakiness and elongation, as applicable.
- Monitor and verify approved mix designs for different concrete grades.
- Check batching plant operations and ensure correct proportioning of cement, aggregates, water and admixtures.
- Conduct slump tests and monitor workability and consistency of fresh concrete.
- Prepare concrete cubes and maintain proper identification, curing and testing records.
- Conduct 7-day and 28-day compressive strength tests using a calibrated compression testing machine.
- Monitor concrete temperature, density/yield and other required fresh-concrete parameters.
- Check moisture corrections in aggregates and ensure appropriate water adjustments in the mix.
- Monitor quality during loading and dispatch of RMC to project sites.
- Coordinate with the Plant Operator, Production Team, Site Engineers and Project QA/QC Team regarding quality issues.
- Investigate low slump,



cube failures, abnormal strength results and other quality deviations.
- Maintain batch-wise test reports, cube registers, slump records, material inspection reports and calibration records.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Maintain records of non-conformities and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor concrete test results statistically and identify trends requiring mix or process adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant IS codes, approved project specifications and company QA/QC procedures.

QCI/BMTPC RMC production-control criteria specifically identify laboratory controls such as aggregate sampling, moisture, bulk density, sieve analysis, concrete slump, unit weight and strength testing.

Qualification

B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering with experience in RMC/Concrete Quality Control.

Experience

2–4 years in RMC plant, batching plant, concrete laboratory or construction QA/QC.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of concrete technology
- Knowledge of RMC plant operations
- Practical experience in cube and slump testing
- Knowledge of IS codes and mix design
- Laboratory documentation and reporting
- Ability to identify and resolve concrete quality issues
- Valuable coordination with production and site teams

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
