ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for a QA Engineer with 3–4 years of hands-on testing experience who can own end to end QA testing. From understanding the requirement, to designing test coverage, to automating the regression suite, to signing off the release.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is strong in functional and exploratory testing. You will work closely with developers, product owners and the release team in an agile, fast-moving environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Test Design & Execution

- Analyse requirements, user stories and API contracts; identify gaps, edge cases and ambiguities before development begins.
- Write clear, traceable test scenarios and test cases covering functional, integration, negative, boundary and data-validation paths.
- Execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, cross-browser and cross-device testing across web and mobile application journeys.
- Perform exploratory and risk-based testing to surface defects that scripted cases miss.
- Validate business rules and calculations - points accrual, eligibility, caps, redemptions, reconciliation with precision.

Defect Management & Release Quality

- Log well-documented defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, logs and severity; drive them to closure with developers.
- Own regression sign-off for assigned modules and communicate release readiness with a clear view of residual risk.
- Verify fixes, run post-deployment validation on staging and production, and support UAT with business stakeholders.
- Maintain test data sets, test environments and documentation so testing is repeatable across programs and tenants.

Collaboration & Improvement





- Work closely with product and development team, participate actively in sprints grooming, planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
- Report on test coverage, execution progress, defect trends.
- Suggest and implement improvements to test processes, coverage strategy and tooling.
- Use AI-assisted tools responsibly to accelerate test case generation, test data creation and regression analysis.

Test Automation

- Exposure to test automation - build, extend and maintain automated test suites for UI, API and data-validation layers.
- Convert high-value manual regression cases into reliable, maintainable automated tests.
- Support API and backend testing, including request/response validation, authentication flows, error handling and database-level assertions.

Required Skills:

- 3–4 years of qualified experience in software testing
- Strong grasp of QA fundamentals: SDLC/STLC, test design techniques, defect life cycle, agile/Scrum delivery.
- Proven ability to test Mobile Application, web and REST APIs
- Comfortable writing and debugging queries against a relational or document database to validate data.
- Clear written and verbal communication. Able to articulate scenarios, not just report failures.
- Attention to detail, and the discipline to be the last line of defence before a release reaches customers.
- Exposure to security testing basics (OWASP Top 10)
- Working knowledge on SQL (Postgres/MySQL) & MongoDB queries
- Diagnose the issue - make sense out of Application Logs and dashboard [ELK, Grafana, Kibana etc]
- Good to have: ISTQB certification or equivalent
