Python Developer Intern (Django / Backend)

Back-End | Vashi, Navi Mumbai (On-site) | 3-Month Internship

INTERNSHIP STRUCTURE

Duration: 3 months, on-site. Conversion: Performance during the internship is reviewed at the end of the term. Strong performers are converted to a full-time role at Arcitech AI; this is not automatic and is assessed against the same bar as our full-time hires for this function.

Prior project experience (academic, personal, freelance, hackathon, or open-source) directly relevant to this role is required to be considered — we are not hiring purely on academic credentials with no applied work to show.

Role Overview

Arcitech AI is looking for a Python Developer Intern to join our backend team, working with Django (and exposure to FastAPI) alongside our full-time Python Developers.



You will work on real APIs and services within our product portfolio, under senior guidance. Robust performers over the 3-month term will be considered for a full-time Python Developer role. You should already have written real backend code — a project with a database, some API endpoints, and actual logic, not just tutorial exercises. We will build your depth in our stack; we expect the fundamentals already in place.

Responsibilities

- Build and maintain backend features using Django (or FastAPI) under the guidance of a senior Python

Developer.
- Build and consume REST APIs, following our existing conventions and code standards.
- Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) — writing queries, using the ORM, understanding

basic indexing.
- Write unit tests for the code you write (pytest/unittest) and get comfortable with our testing expectations.
- Get exposure to Docker, Redis/Celery, and our AWS setup as you work alongside the team on real

tickets.
- Participate in code reviews and Git-based workflows (branching, PRs).
- Own at least one small backend feature or endpoint end-to-end during the internship, as a basis for your

conversion evaluation.

Qualifications

- Pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.




- 0–1 years of professional experience — internships, coursework, and self-driven projects all count.
- Mandatory: at least one backend project (Django, Flask, or FastAPI) with a real database and working

API endpoints — academic, personal, freelance, hackathon, or open-source. Applications without a demonstrable project will not be considered.

Skills

- Working knowledge of Python (3.9+) and at least one web framework (Django preferred; Flask/FastAPI

acceptable).
- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with REST API concepts.
- Some exposure to Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort reading other people's code.
- Clear communication — able to explain what you built, and why you made the choices you did.

Nice to Have

- Exposure to Docker.
- Exposure to Celery, Redis, or any message queue.
- A GitHub profile with visible backend code.
- Basic familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3) or any cloud platform.

Other Details This is a 3-month, on-site internship based at our Vashi, Navi Mumbai office. You will be mentored directly by our backend engineering team.

Compensation

Stipend Range: ₹1,20,000 – ₹1,80,000 per annum (approx. ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 per month), based on skill assessment during the interview process.
