Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to lead the procurement function for raw materials, engineering items, capital equipment, consumables and plant requirements. The person will be responsible for vendor development, sourcing, commercial negotiations, purchase planning, rate contracts, ERP operations and ensuring timely availability of materials while maintaining quality and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Purchase/Procurement team and coordinate day-to-day purchasing activities.
- Develop and manage vendors for raw materials, stores, mechanical, electrical and engineering requirements.
- Handle procurement of basic raw materials, capital items, process equipment, packing materials, safety materials and plant consumables.
- Manage procurement of mechanical and electrical equipment such as motors, pumps, compressors, conveyors, batching systems and instruments.
- Handle procurement of fuels/petcoke and other production-related materials, wherever applicable.
- Develop and negotiate transportation and rate contracts for incoming raw materials and plant materials.
- Identify recent vendors and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, delivery capability and commercial terms.
- Conduct price negotiations and work toward cost optimization.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Stores, Projects, Quality and Finance teams for material requirements.
- Ensure timely issuance and follow-up of Purchase Orders and material deliveries.
- Manage GRN/GIN/material receipt documentation and maintain purchase records.
- Operate/manage ERP systems for purchase transactions and material procurement.




- Support project procurement for plant expansion, new equipment installation and new unit setup.
- Ensure procurement processes comply with applicable company procedures and audit requirements.
- Support ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 audit requirements related to the Purchase Department.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules and pending purchase orders.
- Prepare purchase-related MIS, reports and analysis for management.

Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Engineering / Supply Chain / Procurement or related field.
- MBA/PG qualification in Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Procurement would be an advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- 10 years of experience in manufacturing procurement/purchase.
- Experience in procurement of raw materials, engineering items, capital equipment and plant consumables.
- Experience handling vendors and commercial negotiations.
- Exposure to SAP MM/ERP.
- Experience managing a purchase team.
- Strong coordination skills with Production, Maintenance, Stores and Project teams.
- Good analytical and negotiation skills.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,300,000.00 per year
