Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Engineer Assistant to support purchasing and procurement activities for fire safety and engineering projects. The candidate will assist with material sourcing, vendor coordination, quotation comparison, purchase order processing, inventory management and timely delivery of project materials.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in daily purchasing and procurement activities.
Source fire fighting equipment, sprinkler systems, pipes, valves and other engineering materials.
Collect quotations from vendors and prepare comparative statements.
Prepare purchase orders and maintain procurement documentation.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and delivery schedules.
Follow up on pending purchase orders and material deliveries.
Coordinate with site engineers and project teams for material requirements.
Assist in vendor negotiation and cost-effective purchasing.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the store department.
Verify purchase invoices, delivery challans and material specifications.
Maintain vendor databases, purchase records and daily MIS reports.
Support senior purchase engineers in procurement planning.
Qualification & Experience
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or a relevant engineering discipline.
2–5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
Experience in fire safety, MEP, construction or engineering projects preferred.
Basic knowledge of technical drawings, BOQ and engineering materials.
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office and purchasing software.
Valuable communication, negotiation and vendor coordination skills.
