Role & responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

- Lead the end-to-end execution of Solar EPC Projects from project kick-off through commissioning and handover.
- Develop and monitor detailed project execution plans, schedules, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved time, cost, quality, and safety parameters.
- Establish project priorities and ensure effective coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and commercial teams.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
- Monitor project progress against approved baselines and initiate corrective actions wherever required.

2. Client & Stakeholder Management NTPC

- Act as the key project-level interface with NTPC and other strategic clients.
- Maintain professional and effective relationships with client representatives, consultants, project management consultants, and statutory authorities.
- Lead regular project review meetings with the client and provide accurate updates on project progress, risks, delays, and recovery plans.
- Understand and ensure compliance with client specifications, contractual requirements, technical standards, inspection requirements, and project procedures.
- Manage client expectations and proactively resolve project-related concerns.
- Coordinate and respond to client observations, technical queries, inspections, approvals, and project correspondence.

3. EPC Project Management

- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, HSE, Commercial, Contracts, and Commissioning teams.
- Review engineering deliverables, drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Monitor procurement of critical equipment and materials and ensure timely delivery at site.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, OEMs, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor site construction activities including civil works, structural works, module installation, electrical works, evacuation infrastructure, testing, and commissioning.




- Ensure interface management between various project packages and contractors.

4. Schedule & Cost Control

- Prepare and maintain project schedules using appropriate project management tools.
- Track critical path activities and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Monitor project budgets, commitments, variations, and cost-to-complete.
- Work closely with Commercial and Contracts teams to control project costs and manage variations/claims.
- Develop recovery plans for delayed activities and ensure effective implementation.

5. Quality, HSE & Compliance

- Ensure strict adherence to project quality plans, inspection and test plans, approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Drive a strong safety culture across project sites.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, statutory requirements, environmental norms, and client-specific safety requirements.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams to resolve non-conformities and safety observations.
- Ensure proper documentation and closure of quality and safety issues.

6. Contracts & Commercial Coordination

- Understand EPC contracts, scope of work, contractual milestones, payment terms, LD provisions, warranties, performance guarantees, and change-order mechanisms.
- Coordinate with Contracts/Commercial teams on contractual notices, claims, variations, extensions of time, and client correspondence.
- Ensure project execution remains aligned with contractual obligations.
- Support management in identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.

7. Project Reporting & Governance

- Prepare and present periodic project performance reports to senior management.
- Track key project KPIs including schedule, cost, quality, safety, procurement, construction progress, and commissioning status.




- Escalate critical issues and decisions requiring senior management intervention.
- Maintain proper project documentation, MOMs, dashboards, progress reports, risk registers, and action trackers.
- Participate in corporate project reviews and management meetings.

8. Team Management & Leadership

- Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams across Site Construction, QA/QC, HSE, Commercial, Contracts, and Commissioning functions.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, priorities, KRAs (Key Result Areas), and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for each team members, aligned with project objectives and organizational goals.
- Build a collaborative, accountable, and performance-driven team culture while ensuring effective coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor team performance against defined KRA and KPI targets, provide guidance, and ensure timely decision-making to achieve project milestones.
- Ensure optimum resource utilization and effective allocation of manpower to meet project requirements and timelines.
- Resolve team-level issues and conflicts proactively while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Mentor and develop team members while driving achievement of key project KPIs covering schedule, cost, quality, HSE, procurement, construction, commissioning, and client satisfaction.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering from a reputed institution.
- Additional qualifications in Project Management, Renewable Energy, or Business Management will be an advantage.
- Minimum 12 - 15 years of overall skilled experience.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Renewable Energy / Solar EPC projects power projects or other project-based organizations.
- Experience in managing large-scale Solar EPC projects is essential.
- Experience working with NTPC or other PSU/government clients will be strongly preferred.
- Excellent team leadership, negotiation, risk management, analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
