: Project Manager – Mechanical & Robotics Deployment

Company: Insightzz — MLIT 18 Technology Pvt. Ltd.

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 4–6 years in industrial machinery, robotics, or automation project execution

Travel: Frequent travel to customer plants and extended site presence during critical deployment phases

Role Overview

Own the installation, commissioning, and field stabilization of Insightzz’s robotic systems. Ensure projects are delivered on time, machines perform reliably under actual plant conditions, and customers receive clear communication and effective issue resolution.

This role requires solid mechanical engineering judgment, hands-on troubleshooting, and the ability to convert field failures into permanent improvements in design and production.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation and Project Delivery

- Own execution from pre-dispatch readiness through installation, commissioning, performance trials, and customer handover.
- Prepare detailed schedules covering manpower, tools, materials, contractors, site readiness, and customer dependencies.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, controls, and AI/software teams to resolve integration issues.
- Track milestones, identify delays early, and implement recovery plans.
- Ensure safe installation practices, documented trials, and closure of pending work.

2. Field Stabilization and Reliability

- Lead stabilization of robotic systems under actual operating conditions, including material variation, dust, vibration, misalignment, and continuous operation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures involving mechanisms, grippers, drives, bearings, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and fabricated assemblies.
- Work with controls and software teams to distinguish mechanical, control, perception, and process-related causes.
- Define and track stabilization criteria such as cycle time, throughput,

availability, successful operating cycles, and manual interventions.
- Ensure sustained performance against agreed acceptance criteria before final handover.

3. Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action

- Lead structured root cause analysis (RCA) for breakdowns, recurring faults, and performance shortfalls.
- Use site observations, measurements, machine logs, and failure evidence to validate causes.
- Establish immediate containment measures and permanent corrective and preventive actions.
- Assign owners and deadlines, verify effectiveness through operating trials, and prevent recurrence.
- Maintain issue histories and apply relevant corrective actions across deployed systems.

4. Feedback to Design and Production

- Provide actionable field feedback supported by photographs, measurements, failure records, and recommended changes.
- Coordinate with design teams on improvements to reliability, maintainability, assembly, and installation.
- Work with production and quality teams to address manufacturing defects, tolerance issues, alignment, and assembly consistency.
- Track approved changes through drawings, BOMs, assembly procedures, and inspection checklists.
- Feed deployment lessons into factory acceptance tests so known issues are detected before dispatch.

5. Customer Management

- Act as the primary customer contact during installation and stabilization.
- Conduct regular progress reviews and communicate milestones, risks, dependencies, and recovery plans.

- Manage escalations with clear ownership and realistic commitments.
- Document scope changes and coordinate internal approval before execution.
- Secure trial records, acceptance sign-offs, operator training completion, and handover documentation.

Required Skills and Experience

- Proven experience commissioning and stabilizing industrial machines or robotic automation at customer sites.
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, tolerances, machine assembly, motion systems, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to solve recurring failures using structured RCA methods such as 5 Why, fishbone analysis, or 8D.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors, and customer stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret machine performance data and translate findings into engineering actions.
- Strong planning, documentation, and customer communication skills.

Preferred Background Experience with robotic handling, pick-and-place systems, conveyors, packaging machinery, bulk material handling, or custom industrial automation. Exposure to cement, metals, mining, or railway environments is an advantage.

Success Measures

- Installation and commissioning milestones achieved on time.
- Time taken to achieve stable operation and customer acceptance.
- Availability, throughput, and cycle time against agreed targets.
- Reduction in recurring failures and manual interventions.
- Timely RCA closure with verified corrective actions.
- Field improvements incorporated into subsequent production units.
- Timely customer sign-offs and closure of escalations.

Who Will Succeed A hands-on mechanical engineer who takes ownership at the customer site, investigates failures thoroughly, coordinates teams effectively, and stays accountable until the system operates reliably. Email CV : [email protected]
