Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Project Controls / Planning & Risk Management Engineer with 3–8 years of experience in Power Utilities, EPC, Transmission & Distribution, or Power Generation projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in project planning, Primavera P6/MS Project, cost control, risk management, scheduling, project performance monitoring, and data-driven reporting. The role will involve coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, finance, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within approved time, cost, and risk parameters.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
- Establish project baselines and track actual progress against approved schedules.
- Integrate Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPC) activities.
- Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks and potential delays.
- Analyze schedule deviations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, execution, finance, and other cross-functional teams.
- Prepare periodic schedule updates, progress reports, and look-ahead plans.

2. Risk Management

- Develop and implement project risk management frameworks aligned with ISO 31000 and applicable utility standards.
- Identify, assess, quantify, and monitor project and operational risks.
- Maintain and regularly update project risk registers.
- Conduct risk review meetings and workshops with project stakeholders.




- Develop and track risk mitigation and contingency plans.
- Provide risk-based insights to management to support project decision-making.

3. Cost Estimation & Cost Control

- Prepare project CAPEX and OPEX estimates, budgets, and forecasts.
- Monitor project cost performance against approved budgets.
- Perform cost variance analysis and identify cost overruns or potential savings.
- Develop and maintain Excel-based cost models and project cost trackers.
- Support procurement teams in bid evaluation, cost benchmarking, and commercial analysis.
- Recommend cost optimization and cost-control measures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial governance, audit, and project control requirements.

4. Project Performance Monitoring & Reporting

- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards covering schedule, cost, risk, and overall project performance.
- Prepare monthly project performance and progress reports for senior management.
- Support Earned Value Analysis (EVA/EVM) for monitoring schedule and cost efficiency.
- Analyze project data and provide actionable insights to management.
- Support management reviews, project governance meetings, and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely submission of project performance reports.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3–8 years of relevant experience in Power Utilities, EPC, Transmission & Distribution, Power Generation, or infrastructure projects.




- Solid hands-on experience in Project Planning, Project Controls, Risk Management, and Cost Control.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Strong MS Excel skills with experience in developing cost models, trackers, dashboards, and analytical reports.
- Experience in project risk assessment, risk quantification, and mitigation planning.
- Strong understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Experience in schedule management, critical path analysis, baseline management, and progress tracking.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management / Earned Value Analysis is preferred.
- Knowledge of Indian power-sector regulatory frameworks such as CEA, CERC, and State Electricity Utilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
- Certification/Degree in Project Management, Risk Management, Project Controls, or Cost Control will be an added advantage.
