Professor/Associate/Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering The School of Engineering and Applied Science at Ahmedabad University is inviting applications for faculty positions in all areas of Mechanical Engineering with a focus on composites, manufacturing, product design, robotics and mechanics. Recruitment is on an ongoing basis – both permanent and short-term faculty, post-doctoral research scholars with appropriate academic record.

The University offers a Masters’ programme in Composites and a PhD programme across other domains of mechanical engineering.

Faculty are expected to engage in high-quality research, establish new research areas in collaboration with professors of the University and outside, publish research work in international peer-reviewed journals of repute, teach courses within the School and across the University, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, develop external funding for research support, and participate in institution building. The school is keen to attract faculty who would like to work closely with industry and the larger society.

The University strongly encourages interdisciplinary research involving engineering and biosciences, materials engineering and environmental engineering, amongst others.

Required and preferred qualifications

Applicants should have a PhD and, preferably, post-doctoral experience in a relevant discipline from a globally recognised University. Applicants should possess an excellent academic record and a commitment to academics and to contributing to interdisciplinary research that has a societal impact.

The candidate must have demonstrable skills in individual and collaborative research. The tenure track positions lay equal emphasis on research and teaching.
